Dressel Designs built DeniSS as a love letter to SPYY’s Punchline, and the tribute shows in every design choice. Boasting a fully stainless steel body with an accentuated aluminum ring, DeniSS flips standard bimetal practice on its head, using contrast rather than the usual formula to create a genuinely different performance feel.
That aluminum ring does more than sit there for looks, it frees up about 8 grams per half that would otherwise live in the steel, a philosophy the team calls subtraction from addition. That freed-up weight let the design team build a broader, thinner rim than a typical monometal stainless steel yo-yo could ever achieve, and the payoff shows up immediately in play: a smooth, relaxed feel that never sacrifices stability, even through demanding combos.
This is a yo-yo built on genuine engineering intention rather than following the usual bimetal playbook, a tribute that stands entirely on its own. Throw it and feel exactly what “intentional” is supposed to mean.
