Anyhow, I’m a HUGE sucker for swag and box goodies. Take an 75$ Throw, toss a cool pouch, some stickers, some other neat little knickknack in there worth a couple bucks and …. Presto! I’m ready to pay 99.99 in a heartbeat!
Rain City Skills was always my favorite. Not because they gave away the best stuff, but you never knew what you were gonna get. Random piece of hard candy and some little plastic figurines? Yuuup. Are the figurines holding yo-yos? Nope, completely unrelated to throws. It’s almost like the guy packing the order just took what he had in his pocket and stuff it in the box. Awesome! Love it!
Anyways, I know a lot of company’s do different things as far as swag and goodies go. Here are 3 of mine. The first run Janus, zgrt released it with this really cool little zgrt zippered pouch. I keep guitar picks in it most of the time. Then you got the harbingers first run. They may still do it, but I love their boxes. With a little magnetic clip? Super cool. Then of course you got the Tinmans tin from kyo. That throw isn’t mine it’s Sergio, but I’ve always loved the tin. When he sent it to me to try it out, I specifically asked him to send the tin as well so I could show it to my peeps. Pretty awesome!
Such cool little touches really make it fun. When I get new throws in the mail, my fam all gathers round while I open the box just to see what kinda swag I got.
honestly I’m a bare bones guy. I’ll take a couple of stickers (that I’ll put in a box and never stick to anything cuz nothing is worthy) but beyond that I’m just here for the yoyo. they can even keep the string and pads
of the places i did get stuff from, i agree with you, rcs was goated. random legos, a puzzle piece from a puzzle ill never see…epic. and i got the best sticker ever from them; a dabbing chicken
That’s what was best about RCS, other than the throws of course. Ya just never knew what you were gonna end up with. Just rando stuff, old candy, matchbox cars. Anything you could think of. Honestly, if I opened a RCS box and found some quarters or dimes, I wouldn’t be surprised
I am a huge fan of pins and stickers! Extras and goodies are the best, even a simple sticker makes my day
My wife snagged the little fish pouch that my objet d’ art counterweight came in. I bought that and a busker during the close out and got an insane amount of stickers, pogs, legos lol. They oddly enough included a DJT Lego figure that… may get flicked around from time to time lol
Is that a recess backpack? Also, I’m with ya 100%. They gotta at least chuck a sticker in there! I have a specific box where I store my YoYo stickers till I need them
Also, worth mentioning, not all stickers are created equal too. You’ll get cheapys from certain online retailers, but then you’ll get some really cool, quality stickers from manufacturers. Raised, textured and whatnot.
I am also a barebones guy, fully agreed with @Splizacular that I don’t even need the string and pads. I do enjoy enamel pins like the ones from CLYW but if there was a pin-less version that was even 5 dollars cheaper I would just buy the bare yoyo.
I love cool swag the coins , “holders” and stickers in g2 boxes, rcs stuff, clyw pins, all of it is awesome. Lots of little treasures to enjoy along with the yoyo. I almost wish some places let you buy just the swag
I feel Like it’s a crucial part of my unboxing process. I’ll buy a three hundred dollar throw and once it comes I’ll open it, pull out the throw which I expected (I’ll drool over it later) then look around the box for strings, knickknacks, everything but the kitchen sink. If I don’t get at least a sticker, I’m not happy Even if it is a dynamite throw!
Stickers/pins don’t do a lot for me, but I do get excited about trinkets when they’re included with a throw. Love the coins that G2 gives with some throws (in fact, I usually want to keep them even if I decide to sell the yoyo itself).
