i’ve been doing that tutorial since i made the post asking for the video, and the one thing i can say sucks most about this trick is the way you know you’re close is when the yoyo comes whipping back at you full speed after you try landing the hook part… my nose hurts…

I actually like doing this trick with little momentum. I’d rather throw the yoyo just a bit in that gunshot motion and pull my hands apart to get the loop where I want it. If you’re having trouble with the gunshot version, just try starting from a trapeze with your NTH thumb up like you would for the gunshot and go from there.
