hey yoyo people while takeing a bearing out of my duncan echo i scratched the bearing seat now its silver not blue and the string keeps breaking what should i do
Simply scratching the edge of the bearing seat shouldn’t do anything like that, so this sounds like it’s more than just a simple scratch.
Try rubbing it down with some durable cloth like canvas or denim and I mean REALLY rub it down(it’s gonna take some time) and take that “edge” off it. I can’t see how you’d scratch the bearing seat so bad where it would cut strings…
Then again, wasn’t there a thread recently about Echos being string cutters?
They do have that grooved surface.
