i lost a bearing shield for my cbc center trac and i cant find it, do i really need one?
As I clean my bearings I have left the shields off, the bearings seem to spin better. The yo provides all the cap I need.
As willysol said, shields are not exactly needed. They mainly just prevent things from getting inside and gunking up the bearing. With the shields off, things can get in easier, but the yoyo does a pretty good job of stopping things getting in. Plus, with the shields off, it kinda saves time when cleaning, as all you have to do is drop the bearing in (mineral spirits), and start, rather than taking them off
