Bearing Blank?

I might have found an option for an A-Sized bearing blank. Its an unthreaded spacer from McMaster Carr, and the dimensions are super close.

5.3mm ID
10mm OD
4mm width

The only issue is the ID specs are 5.3mm -0/+0.3mm, which sounds like it would fit loose. Anyone have any thoughts? Or know where I can get an A-Bearing blank?

This doesn’t really answer your question, but Ed mentioned in the fixed axle discord that he had previously enjoyed playing with just the inner ring of a broken A bearing. If you just had a spare A bearing laying around that you don’t mind destroying, you could give that a shot.

Thats not a bad idea at all, I have a spare bearing I wouldn’t mind breaking. I have a set of rubber shielded A-Bearings I use for most of my A-bearing throws (most are responsive so it helps keep them responsive longer)

I would think a spare A size bearing and some super glue or a few dabs of JB Weld could yield a similar result as the blank. Lock it up. You know it will fit perfectly.
