Maybe I’m thinking too optimistically but, can people comment on his post mentioning this thread or at least that the guy is notorious for taking money and then disappearing only to reemerge in other yoyo communities later?

I commented on his post with this thread link. Also reported to admins. I’m no longer seeing the post on FB

I just traded with him and send my throws out. Should I try to reroute the package back to me?

yes.

I would

Oh no… I mean—yes you probably should. If he really delivers you can always resend but don’t hold out hope.

Maybe its just me, but i have always received what i payed for, plus a bunch of extra(and not cheap) cool stuff. Not even always yoyo related… i kinda picked up two additional hobbies because of him. Sometimes it takes quite a while, but i politely ask him if he got it sent, and he replies within a day or so… sometimes i ask a few times before it is sent, but i dont buy from him(or anyone else) with any urgency… it isnt medical supplies…. I always tell people not to run out to the post office just for me; do it whenever is convenient for them. Quite a few times ive waited a couple weeks, but only once did i actually get screwed(by YoyoD3N). As long as i dont get ignored for a long period of time, I try not to stress over it… i did get no response from chris brown way back when east threads got started, but I held back on being accusatory, because I had always gotten my stuff before. Then I found out that it was beyond his control, and his girlfriend sent me stuff that I had paid for plus a free G2 OC. Life happens. Now time from what other people have said, he has directly blown them off in the past or something to that extent. I don’t know the situation and I’m not passing judgment, but it is your right to believe as you choose. I don’t really want to get involved in everybody else’s stuff. I just will try and give a heads up if I think there’s an issue, but that doesn’t always have to mean immediately assuming intent. I just hope that anybody who’s posting knows what they’re talking about posts honestly in all threads. I don’t usually post in threads unless it’s something I feel should be said. I appreciate anybody who read this entire thing, and I’m not saying chris has done the wrong, but I also don’t know for sure that he has. Just a friendly reminder to people to not let anger or other emotions push them into unwarranted for impatient judgments on other people. A lot can happen if somebody’s life that can make shipping somebody some yo-yos seem like the least important thing you have to do. Just remember, they are yoyos…Thank you again for reading, And I wish the best for every one of you!

Thing is if he was legit then it doesn’t add up that he was ghosting people on here and then became active on other B/S/Ts. What happened? Spite?

I too have been scammed here. In December, for $140 total DONT SEND PayPal F+F unless you know the seller. It really sucks, I’ve had better purchases (overall) on eBay .

He was inaccessible for a while(not by choice). When he was once again accessible, he saw what everyone said while he was away… It does have to suck seeing how so many people will turn on you when it comes down to it. I dont know if spite is the proper reaction to that situation, but what is the proper response? Who knows…

I mean if you end up with a large number of folks money and not sending them what they paid for then ignore them and keep taking in money then get banned from the forum and start doing the same thing on other platforms BST and then come back and pull the same thing several times under different accounts on this same forum to the point where everyone knows the reputation.. yeah it’s hard not to absolutely lose trust in the guy and decided the community is better if he isn’t in it at all.

He tried to join a few other Facebook BST that I have admin in and I declined his join outright. It’s well past benefit if the doubt or second chances at this point…

Honestly, depending on how true this is, his lack of communication is abysmal. Granted, I’ve yet to have a first-hand experience, but by almost all second and third hand accounts, if there is one thing he can improve upon, it’s communication. I mean, communication with your customers, no matter how big or small you are is not only important, but a necessity.

I, myself, have lost a large sum of money (non-yoyo related) and I didn’t even know it until the shipping date had well passed. And I didn’t even know I wasn’t getting the product (or a refund) from the seller. I had to learn from a reddit post (that I had to find) [This was a custom keyboard from Wylderbuild; if anyone can share anything about getting the product or a refund, please lmk]

My point is, communication is key, and even more so in niche communities, which tend to be incredibly forgiving with daily obstacles. Personally, I’d rather have over communication than under, but the way Chris Brown/Dr Filthy treats his customers, regardless of what’s actually happening in his life, walks, talks, and looks like a scam, no matter how you cut it. Skirting IP bans, once, alone is a very, VERY bad look, not to mention the frequent bailing, and lack of communication

I think you’re forgetting that they’re not the same person

Oh shoot! Am I on the wrong thread?

Regardless, I don’t think this invalidates my point; lack of communication is bad and the more niche a community the worse it is and how someone acts during that lack of communication is essential

A bunch of people suspected that Chris was Dr Filthy but it has been confirmed they live in different places and have different IP addresses.

:up_arrow: I mean… You can spoof IPs

Have fun using a forum when you can’t receive replies from the server lol

Imagine ‘spoofing’ your mailing address and trying to receive a package

People defending actions is crazy work. The committed fraud is inexcusable, and defending such actions is kind of shady.

Money is involved, and multiple accounts of fraud are inexcusable.
