Im going to regret saying this later but since the contest is over i just want to say something.
While its greats heath is trying to be fair with the entries i feel that if he is going to just draw cards from a hat he shouldnt have had us make entries that for some took hours, no days. I guess im just fustrated because in most art contests ive entered the results were determined by creativity, quality, and the overall look of it, not luck. I know time and effort has no play in who should have won but (referring to my entry but applies to others as well) i spent a weekend drawing a planet, character, and other stuff which i felt was high quality only to find that the picture i entered was placed into a hat left to luck (cant think of proper phrase atm).
No hate of course to matts entry i also liked it i just felt the contest should have been decided in another fashion.
Right now im sure ill get alot of hate from you guys and my reputation will turn into the selfish guy who ranted for a yoyo but i feel it had to be said.
My suggestions is that if you have another art contest, decide the winner based on the art, not luck.

I kinda agree, I would be pretty disappointed if my entry was one of the five and I just lost a moonwalker because of luck.

I dont agree and I feel like Heath has enough heat right now that he shouldnât get more because he chose his favorite 5 and couldnât decide so he left it to luck. He odviously loved these five and figured that would be the most fair. Its not like he put all the people in a hat and picked one. He broke it down to 5 and im sure those 5 all had some time in them. ya I feel for you for not winning cause losing sucks expecially of you spent a lot of time on it but IMO this was a good choice. I saw a lot of really good drawings and it would of been hard to pick just one. He even offered runner up prizes which to my knowledge wasnât even part of it. I kinda understand your side but come on Heath has a lot on his plate right now and he doesnât need everybody ganging up on him. Thatâs my two cents. dont need to agree but I had to say it

yes runner up prizes was a nice thing of heath to do but i still think leaving it to luck wasnt right. A better choice imo would have been, if he couldnt come up with a winner, have the public decide. Create a poll where the community decides the winner (contestants cant vote) or have some friends help decide. Im not trying to attack or gangup on heath because im sure hes a really nice guy and im sorry if he has alot on his plate atm but i just wanted to let him know for future contests he may have.
In theory that would be a good decision but a lot of the time when things go to a poll it comes down to a popularity contest and not who has the best ______. They go he vote for me vote for me and whoever had the most friends win. Not sure what really would of worked better but im sure the Guy who won doesnât have a problem with how things were handled lol everybody who entered should be proud of there work. There was some really awesome stuff
right scratch the poll thing, having a neutal, non yoyoer, 3rd party opinoin from say his mom or girlfried would have been fine because this way she/he doesnt know any of the contestants therefore eliminating the possibility for a biased decision/popularity contest.
Lol ofc the winner is happy with the turn out and im happy for him too. He gets a really nice yoyo and will probably make good use of it. Also i am proud of my entry, i grew as an artist and enjoyed making it i just feel that the winner should have been decided in a different manner.
This was Heathâs contest, he made a decision about how to choose a winner, letâs leave it at that.
