Aluminum tariff price hike affecting yoyo manufacturing?

This is probably more of a question for One Drop than anyone else, but I was reading about a 10% tariff on imported aluminum. If the cost of aluminum can cause a giant like Coca Cola to raise their prices because of increased can manufacturing prices, is this something that is shaking down to the yoyo community?

It’s been interesting watching in recent years as yoyo quality has seemingly increased while production numbers and overall cost have seemed to decrease. Even with 100% domestic yoyos (such as One Drop) I feel the price is more competitive than ever before.

Anyway, just a thought.

Huh so it is

I think yoyos are sold in small enough overall volumes relative to Coke that prices should be mostly unaffected?

As I understand it, the aluminum is the cheapest part of having a yoyo made. The expensive part is the machining time. For context titanium is more than 10 times as expensive.

Also if the yoyo is made in China (as many are these days), they are certainly sourcing aluminum from somewhere locally that wouldn’t be subject to tariffs.
