When Alchemik was founded, our focus was on titanium and other premium metals. Over time, we realized that exceptional design isn’t tied to any one material. Machined from Delrin (POM-H), one of the finest engineering plastics available, the Tempest combines impressive stiffness, strength, and wear resistance with a naturally low-friction surface. The result is a throw that feels uniquely planted in play, offering a satisfying balance between the warmth of plastic and the precision of metal.
The Tempest made its debut at the 2026 National Yo-Yo Contest, where players immediately put it through its paces. The response was overwhelmingly positive, confirming the Tempest earns its place alongside its metal brothers.
Great question! The hope is to definitely expand into other retailers with these, but this current batch that we did is very limited. I think we only have around 30 of them left, so if these are successful enough for us to order another batch, we will order more to get them into the hands of other retailers.

Any videos of the yo-yo in play? I’m interested but would like to see how it handles. I’m really looking for a responsive due to being new I want to learn from the beginning
This is an unresponsive, but a fabulous one to start out with. Be more than happy to teach ya and get ya going with one if you’re interested. I can generally get someone to learn how to bind within a few hours of play.
