Akita vs exia (ss or brass)

How do these two differ in play and feel? Just curious how they compare.

The specs and profile seem VERY similar. I wanted an exia for a while, but ended up getting an akita before I noticed how similar they were.

Exia (ss):
Diameter: 55.62 mm / 2.19 inches
Width: 47.31 mm / 1.86 inches
Weight: 63.67 grams

Exia (brass):
Diameter: 55.60 mm / 2.19 inches
Width: 47.30 mm / 1.86 inches
Weight: 66.3 grams

Akita:
Diameter: 55.10 mm / 2.17 inches
Width: 48.10 mm / 1.89 inches
Weight: 64.8 grams

For me, the ss exia seemed to have more umph in play than the akita. I have yet to try the brass exia but I imagine it would feel even more powerful. My best guess is that the akita naturally has more center weight due to its design, but I also have no idea if that is true or not!

You honestly can’t go wrong with any of these throws tho!!

Honestly they are both very good and can’t go wrong with either.

I do find myself going back to the Akita more though for what it’s worth

I have both, with the SS rim Exia. The Exia was one of my first bimetals, no regrets buying it. However, once I got the Akita, I began throwing that more often, it just played better for me. You’ll be happy with either one for sure.

Thanks for the responses! :+1:

I should have been clearer in the initial post, but I already have an akita. Just wanted to know if they were different enough to justify having both.

The brass Exia is a powerhouse, it spins forever and is stable as can be, I dont miss with this yoyo. Akita is nice and very close to the Exia but it just doesnt last for me, ai always run out of spin but its still a great yoyo. I would go with the Brass Exia.
