Airetic Strings x Lathed Back Design Collaboration Yoyo

Once upon a time, Rob (Airetic Strings) designed three different yoyos. These were made quietly as a side project called The Speakeasy. Basically, Rob got a few folks together to help cover the cost of these small prototype runs. The three models he made all look and play fantastic.

Rob absolutely crushed it on his first try when he designed a yoyo called the Password (pictured below… another of Rob’s designs, a slimline called the Smuggler, is in the background). All his yoyos were 7075. The OG Password is about 55mm in diameter, 50mm wide, is light (around 65g), plays light, and somehow spins forever. It even dead spins like a champ.

Rob and Joel (of Lathed Back Design) have teamed up to make the Ti Password a reality. There are a lot of Ti throws out there, but this should be something truly different and worthy of titanium’s strength, light weight, and price tag.

The Ti Password will have similar dimensions, weight, and play characteristics as the 7075 Password, but the titanium design is taking advantage of the ability to machine really thin cup walls.

It should be a neat yoyo, and I’m really looking forward to seeing one in person, eventually.
