I’m wondering if this is an 08, can anyone tell?
I just received this from my brother for a late Birthday gift. He has no idea about yo yo’s. He just knew I wanted a raw 888. It had an old cotton string on it, if that helps 
.. jk, but it’s in amazing shape, that’s why I think it is newer

Looks like an 08 888 to me. This one looks a little different than the new reissue version.

I think it was call the elite edition. There was a G5 I think I had at one time too. I’m pretty sure it’s 08’ and 7075 al.

maybe i am wrong but i have never seen large bearing OG raw 08 888 raw , only the new cheap china re-run

here my raw ultra-light 2007 888, very very rare
in 2007, YYF take OG 2007 888, and re-machine entire surface of yoyo, removing maybe 7g (forget, havent weigh in long time) from the yoyo overall. weigh maybe 57g with regular delrin hubstack ( i have OG long stack on it - look goofy now). only handful exist
