5A CW weight - what’s the sweet spot?

So I know the weight of your CW is a big deal in 5A, but does anybody know the ratio of yoyo:cw that is “optimal” for freehand? Is it all up to personal preference within a wide range, or is it pretty exact? What is the lightest/heaviest you could conceivably go (and still have a playable setup)?

depends on the yoyo and your playstyle. typically 1/6 to 1/7 ratio is preferred

10.5g i think is the average for a 65g yoyo. 10-11g is the standard. 9g is really light and 12g is really heavy.

I remember many years ago, when Steve Brown use to post regularly on Yoyoing.com, when that question was asked, Steve’s’ response was ‘Counterweight should be approx. 1/7th of yo-yo weight’.

I will contact Steve directly, to see if his view/opinion on that ratio has changed?
