I’m just about ready to do some maintenance on my Offstring but am realizing I know very little about Offstring bearing sizes and type of lube. I having taken apart either of the 4a’s I own but they both look to have a slim bearing in there.
I have both, and they both use a regular size C bearing, no different from the standard. Most modern offstring yoyos use size C as well. The gap is just more narrow because the axle system allows the bearing to sink further into the shell than with 1a yoyos. I just use the same thin lube that I do on all my 1a throws. As with any yoyo, just don’t over tighten.
Apparently, the skyhawk is compatible with a size A bearing if you flip the spacers, but I’ve never tried it. That could be fun to mess around with!
