2A Tuesdays ( a Looping Thread)

That definitely helped it still happened at the end of my attempts but def not as much

Is it the sleep time thatā€™s throwing you off? What Yoyo is it? You can try to narrow the gap but your string was long like I got mine like a few inches above the knee and it feels awkward at first by my consistency goes way up w an awkwardly short string. You can also try fatter string to reduce sleep time. If Iā€™m wrong anyone please let me know bc Iā€™m def not an expert by any means

I concur with the string length comments, but would also suggest that you want to roll your wrist less and just snap it like hitting the spacebar with your thumb really hard.

Getting the right angle on the throw also helps. Itā€™s supposed to lean to 11:00 on the left hand and 1:00 on the right. Getting my first throw on the right angle means I need to change how I would otherwise forward pass.

Progress update for the holiday! I know itā€™s been a while but I didnā€™t stop looping. I can now consistently loop about 20-30 times on my right but, only about 3 with my left lol. Donā€™t even asking about doing two at the same time

I forgot that I do have a light up yo-yo to bring to fireworks tonight. The goodie bag Avengers special.

Itā€™s super light so I put a slightly longer than looping length string on it. When I get it looping it feels like it might fly apart :joy:

Iā€™m disappointed I couldnā€™t find a light up in time for fireworks but Iā€™ll swing a sparkler while yo-yoing to get as close as I can

I think it would def be easier if the yoyo didnt sleep at all right? That could have something to do with it. But i actually hit a nice stride today and got like 20 good loops in a row before my technique fell apart

They had one previously that only lit up on one side. What surprised me is they said the new one was heavy. The 2020 LED caps barely make a difference at all.

My best loopers are my transaxle with some brain lube. Barely sleep at all which makes great loops but thereā€™s a downside. How do you fix tension if you canā€™t sleep the yoyo for a fast sidewinder or ufo. Itā€™s kind of a game of whats your preference and what your skill can handle

Truth probably better to just practice how it should be with sleeping

You want it to sleep or youā€™ll train bad habits and want to also practice around the worlds but this was an easy tuning guide for me bc it is hard to get a setup tuned to loop when you canā€™t loop yet hah

Nah i can loop the string was just too long so its all good lol i cant do both hands at once tho and have a hard time getting both strings same length

If you choose to go this route you adjust torsion by doing opposite torsion tricks, like outer loops and hop the fence.

Edit: s/tension/torsion/g

Fair which is why I mentioned skill level. I wasnā€™t going to confuse the situation but thatā€™s the path Iā€™ve chose.

Tweaking responses today. I dragged the raiders back out. They have loop 720 red spacers and loop up something fierce. I may try to file down the ends of the axle to close the gap a little.

The yellow pair of loop 720s I returned to stock red spacers, as my new pair of pink 720s came with red and blue spacer combos stock. Everything got lubed and fresh strings.

The next trick is to tie three onto each hand and loop them all at once. Pull this off and youā€™ll be untouchable.

Hereā€™s a progress update from me. I do think Iā€™m improving. My one handed technique is getting much better but it doesnā€™t hold when I switch to two handed.

Looks fantastic, you will have it mastered soon, no doubt :heart_eyes_cat:
