2026 CLYW x Onedrop hype thread

Have you seen how many people get heated about how quickly MFD stuff sells out? Or how infrequently it is even available? Ray is a professional, and even he can’t keep up with demand.

You posted a picture of it.

Are you having trouble understanding or what?!?! If they did a ridiculous BBB color on a Kay and I only talked about the color, which yo-yo should I have posted a photo of!?!?!?

Those are basic two color splashes. BBB is a much more complex process. I have been around the ano process for yo-yo and non yo-yo related work for over a decade. It is a constant struggle to get consistent results even with solid colors. I’m trying to explain that, and you’re picking a fight because I am on a team? Brotha, that is ridiculous.

Yeah, because almost every piece is different and unique lol. them selling out has nothing to do with in house anodizing being an issue. It would be a much different process if they had set colorways. Ray is an artist, and he treats the colorways as art.

Also, if business is truly THAT good and that’s an issue, then hire a dedicated anodizer.

Another thing is that almost every desirable CLYW sells out fast. The only stuff sitting is a handful of less desirable throws or colorways, so they can easily just not overproduce based on historical data.

There’s really no excuse to be made, and I’m in no way hating, but it’s the truth that they should consider in-house anodizing, or at least finding a better anodizer if quality is slipping and they can’t even make consistent colorways.

Criticism for not making enough pieces is far better to have than criticism of quality.

Just my 2 cents.

i agree, i’d rather wait for quality and then just pump out quantities of stuff….

I guess my question is why switch manufacturers?!:sob: people are willing to pay the $150+ for the legacy peak, i don’t see them not selling out for better quality manufacturing and anodizing….i get it’s probably cheaper but idk people are obviously willing to shell out the extra $50-$70 as i am in that same boat.

Agreed. I’d MUCH rather wait for a better quality product and have no issue paying for it.

Y’all should start a yo-yo company. Or open an ano shop.

Between the premium $25 premium asked for these latest BBBs and the instant sellout, I think it will be tricky to convince anyone at CLYW that BBB shows that there is a quality issue that needs solving.

People have been complaining a lot about 28s. The Legacy Peak is kind of exceptional among recent releases.

The HulK Smash doesn’t look that “Hulk” to me (compared to earlier), but AFAIK the people making the calls love the recent iterations.

yano it’s been a thought  i just have a deep affinity and nostalgia for this company and watching it change sometimes makes me smile but also kind of grin lol

I feel like people have forgotten how ridiculously inconsistent colourways are from one yo-yo to another. The original team edition peak was one of two, and the splash weighting was significantly different on each of the two. Heck I had two hulk smash peaks back in the day and they had entirely different finishes.

Every time a colour is run, it’s different in shade and splash/speckled from any previous run. Just look at the original wolverine or SvsZB for example.

Pioneer had some amazing anodisation, but they moved to Gruntbull, and have subsequently moved on. Each shop will have their own interpretation, and put their own spin on it.

This is from 10 years ago… Simpson Wong must have called an anodizing scientist like you to achieve this result…

Well, I’m going to sleep, goodnight… :waving_hand:

Now find another one of these that looks exactly identical to this one.

Goodnight bb(b) :face_blowing_a_kiss:

the first photo I found on a store… very different, practically unrecognizable…

Not enough blue. Go to bed.

You’re not smart enough. Go to bed!

I thought the finishes all looked pretty nice! If only there were more P3AKs.. I missed the drop but I’m sure there will be more.

the weighting of those splash was so different that it was reproduced identically in terms of tones and fluidity in at least two other colorways…

Team ed. Peak and BvsM

BvsM Wolverine

BvsM Ogopogo

but it must have been a miracle, since according to anodizing experts of this forum, repeatability is impossible!
