I ordered Box A and X, today a Fedex girl called me and told me my “4 yoyos” have arrived to my country. Unless she counted wrong, there is some chance and I’m kinda excited about it…
But the ti dream is inside of the mystery box x .
There’s no way to actually know unless you open it .
Does Canadian customs open all their packages ??
Im peruvian, and they do open them sometimes…
Hahaha ! I’m dumb . the little flag icon looked like a Canadian flag :DD
Sounds like you have a good chance then
I was looking at the weight of my mystery box and it said 0 ounces!!! What’s wrong
Also sounds like my english is not that bad hahaha. Dont worry, still I dont want to raise my expectations or I will be so dissapointed if I dont get it. Good luck to everyone!!
Superstar question: Do any of yours seem to slow down after multiple wraps of string in the gap? The Superstar is very stable and long spinning but noticed that when I do something with multiple wraps it slows down significantly. Also not getting clean binds.
I’m using normal Kitty Nylon.
Not really, but I am using a pretty thin string. I did notice that it needed some lube and that when taking off a shield, its just a regular 8 ball CT bearing.
Thats weird, if it slows with múltiple wraps it means 1. You are using a fat string or 2. The Yoyo has an small gap. Either way the bind should be easier… Or what do you mean by clear?
I personally haven’t had any issues with mine doing that at all. Maybe switch out the bearing? Not sure…
How is everyone liking their superstars?
Haven’t received it yet should be here tomorrow or the next day though
I noticed I’m not getting those nice tight binds as it seems.
Maybe like people before said its a bearing problem… Try to change it for a while with the best one you have and play with it
Regular center trac mixed with yellow YYF pads .
Never has been a good combo for me .
I switched out the center trac for a 10 ball kk
I’ll try and switch things up when I get home. I found stock yyf bearings “meh” to begin with.
I noticed stock string was terrible with the stock setup. As soon as I put fat kitty’s in it was binding much better. It’s not super tight but it’s also not loose.
I absolutely love whatever finish is on the Dogma. I don’t think it’s the greatest for grinds, but it doesn’t seem to get greasy/grimy from your hands, and it’s nice and metal feeling, and SHINY.
Does anyone know what it is called? I don’t know terms such as blasted/polished/whatever else method
I will be having my yoyos tomorrow night (most likely) with some Kitty string normal. I will try to tell you how it goes for me
Not gonna post pictures, because everything I got has been posted already, but here are my thoughts.
A Box: I got a blue Dogma and blue with black speckle Too H.O.T.
I’m not a huge fan of the finish on the Dogma, because I’m more of a heavy-matte blasted finish fan, and the Dogma is even more glossy than YYF’s “average” (like blasted Shutter) blast. That being said, it’s a pretty great throw. It has a really nimble feeling despite having a fairly average weight. I think this is in large part to the sizeable rounded center of the cup area providing a decent amount of center weight; however, it still has powerful spin times because the rims are still pretty beefy, so I find that it has a very interesting weight distribution that plays evenly distributed without sacrificing spin times.
The Too H.O.T. is awesome to say the least. This blast is great and I love the colorway. Makes up for my regret about not picking up a golden galaxy version previously, but I also regret not picking one up sooner, because this thing is great. I think it’ll now be my go-to recommendation in YYF’s budget lineup, it’s by far my favorite of them now.
B Box: Gold Aviator 2 and an aqua Dream. This box was kind of “meh” for me, but still very much worth what I paid for it.
I really like the Aviator 2, just not so much the colorway. When I visited YYF about a month ago, I saw some awesome splashes that I’d rather have, but I’m still very happy to have this one at such a great deal. Really comfy throw with great play characteristics; much like its predecessor.
As for the Dream, it’s good, it’s just the least exciting of them for me, seeing as I’ve owned two previously. Though it is nice to have another one to match up with my TiDream and Nightmare again, so I can’t complain. To me, it plays great, but isn’t anything super special, especially when compared to it’s bimetal and titanium siblings. Solid performance, but semi-bland.
X Box: teal Superstar.
Wow, this one is outstanding. Like others have said, it seems to strike a nice balance between the Nightmare and Space Cowgirl. Together, even though the SC is now effectively retired, they make up one heck of a bimetal lineup. Overall, I like the profile the best out of the three, as it’s super comfy while still being quite the performance monster; not an easy feat to say the least. Great job on this design YYF, and thanks so much for the opportunity to get one for such a bargain. As far as I’m concerned, I happily paid $150 for this new Superstar, and got 4 other great yoyos as freebies.
No one has come forward with the Ti Dream winner yet? The suspense is REAL! hahaaa
