2015 Battle of the Elders (30+) - People's Choice winners p23

Hi, thanks very much!!

Yes, more chopsticks please ! Jason Lee’s chopsticks were one of the first things I saw that got me really excited about yoyoing.

Now we’re talking! Chopsticks are by far my favourite yoyoing element (just wish I was better at them). I am fully onboard for the Chopstick takeover. ;D

Donatello checking in. Paul Dang sensei is master Splinter.

It’s NC, but is pretty far south. Near Southport infact

I don’t get to live there, I was just visiting.

Here is my submission.  I have been yo-yoing for about a year.  I also enjoy collecting them just as much as playing with them.  My son and I spend a lot of time together yo-yoing and it has turned out to be a great experience.  My daughter also yoyos.  Seeing John Higby last summer motivated us to want to learn.

Mice work, Matt! Thanks for submitting.

John Higby has been an inspiration for me, too. Got to meet him here in Ottawa shortly after I took up yoyoing. He let me do a sloppy Matrix combo for his crowd.

LAST WEEKEND!

Let’s do this thing.

I’d forgotten how fun it is to read through this thread and watch the videos for this contest. Great submissions! I really enjoy the spirit of this competition. I don’t get as into the competition circuit or this person’s or that person’s new routine as most people, but the submissions in this contest always seem to have a way of grabbing my attention.

There have been some really great entries I’ve really enjoyed. Forum member old_spinner’s video for the under one year section stood out so far in a field of standouts. A lot of showmanship and flash that might not score too highly with judges, but wow a crowd of people outside the yoyo community like no amount of tech stuff can.

I just got done reading the entire thread and watching every video posted so far. Im glad I didnt watch them before, the skill the so far off the chain, you cant even see it anymore. I might not have tossed my hat in the ring had I seen this insanity first. Haa! You guys are nuts! and I need to go practice alot more.

I may or may not be secretly relieved that I don’t have to compete against some of these people.

I agree with you Dust talent is crazy good i feel like i need some kinda yoyo super power skills or something like that please if there is a secret to unlock awesome yoyoing skills let me in on it haha

First off, I want to thank everyone involved in this contest! It’s been fun, frustrating, and painful putting this together (my NTH middle finger hurts after a nasty knuckle smash by my YYF Nightmare) but in the end I think I’m pretty pleased given my skills I’ve recently picked up in the past few months.

Here’s my video, hope you all enjoy!

Thanks!! ;D Im looking forward to seeing how I compaare to where Im at now, 6 months from now. Thanks for the feedback! I feel the love.

Appreciated, glad you enjoyed it! Of course after all the filming and submitting, I’m hitting my tricks smoother and coming up with other ideas. But I’ll be ready come next year and see how I do within a year’s time!

I’ve enjoyed watching everyone’s videos as well, not only to see what I’m up against but watching others throw gives me ideas to try especially when my mind is drawing blanks on what to do and where to go with something I might be working on.

Here is my entry. I am suprised I didn’t finish it at the last minute. This was alot of fun. Thank you.
