Have you added a default shipping address and billing address/credit card to your account? Also make sure that you’re signed into the site so it brings those defaults up. That will give you the best shot at grabbing one.
Otherwise, the scramble is kind of part of the fun. The premium and collectors boxes are very limited like Garrett said, and that adds to the excitement if you happen to get one. If you don’t get a premium box on this last chance, definitely try to pick up a $50 box instead. I was able to snag a collector’s box on the first day, and after that order was complete I still had time to grab a $50 box. Took me almost 20 minutes to complete both orders due to the traffic on the site bogging it down, so be patient and don’t necessarily keep clicking refresh if it’s not loading quickly; I only refreshed when a page errored out a few times.
Also, just because you might not get what you want on your birthday doesn’t make YYE and YYF mean. They’re being very generous with such a good deal. They also only really advertised it, the community is who hypes it up so much. And although life isn’t always fair, I think that mystery boxes are pretty fair all around. Everybody has to deal with trying to be the fastest person in a traffic jam.
If you don’t end up getting the premium box or even the $50 box, ask your parents if you can buy something else that appeals to you, and be happy with that, because there are a LOT of kids in the world that have parents who wouldn’t even spend $5 on their kid’s birthday.
Now the question is, not only what signature is it, but which box is it in, the $50, the $100, the $200, a few of them, or all three of them, with different yo-yos accompanying it in the box?
If I had to guess between those two, it would be Koloski. On ask.fm it just seems like there have been mere talks of Ann considering a signature, but nothing more. Eric is posting an awful lot, and to celebrate joining the team, a signature feels more ripe for him. If he’s working at YoyoFactory full time, he probably has tons of time to come up with a great design.
^ In addition to this, there were plenty of $50 boxes available for almost an hour the first day. I had an opportunity to get the $50 box after I struck out on the collector box. Then, after I got a $50 box, I had the opportunity to go back and buy a second one if I wanted about a half hour later. They were in stock that long that everyone who was there at the countdown had a reasonable opportunity to get one.
Also, I didn’t participate yesterday, but I was poking around online and noticed the $50 boxes still available online. These $50 boxes seem pretty available to those who are patient and stick around to secure a good place in line.
I’ve been doing more research and if YYF hints about a signature model being in the mystery box are true, I’m more convinced that it’s going to be the Jason Lee Detour model. Supposedly it was done earlier this year, but not ready to show at the New York Toy Fair this year, but from what I read it was going to be out this year. We shall see next week ;D
