More than long enough. Over 2 minutes either way. My slim bearing is WELL broken in, cleaned and run dry.
I’d like to humor your request better, but I’ve found my time is better utilized working on tricks than letting the yoyo dangle on the end of a string while I run a stopwatch.
That little test doesn’t tell you much. It will vary greatly depending on if the bearing is lubed or not, or freshly cleaned etc. Studio42’s answer is as valid as any.
I think you’re over thinking this whole thing. After reading more here I see that you’ve got 3 or 4 different topics in here concerning the DM 2 and the bearing.
I’d like to humor your request better, but I’ve found my time is better utilized working on tricks than taking a yoyo apart in order to do a spin test of a bearing on a pencil while I somehow figure out a way to run a stopwatch with my toes in order to facilitate procuring results that may or may not be to your liking.
A couple of seconds maybe (small bearing. haven’t tried the speed bearing).
Haven’t really put any attention to it. Since I am really new to the yoyo thing, I unscrew the yoyo whenever I need to change the string (so far 2 times) and sometimes I unscrew it just to check the pads or out of curiosity.
Every time I do it, I make the bearing spin and it doesn’t spin for a long time. But that’s ok, my fingers do not produce the same rotational force/torque (or whatever sorcery is needed) to make the bearing spin the same time it spins when it’s in the yoyo and you throw it.
