What do YOU think the first YYE release of 2012 will be?
idk what it will be… but i hope someone brings a modern style wooden yoyo to the table… something that behaves like the protostar… i mean, if you can make a high performing plastic, why not wood?
The Chaser reminds me of the Protostar/Northstar, but with more weight. It’s fairly new, but apparently it came out at Worlds. I know YYE has had it for a little while. I’ve been waiting for the blue to arrive, and it did so I snatched it up right away. It apparently doesn’t quite behave like the protostar/northstar though.
I’m thinking that YYE is probably going to release an accessory item or apparel. I think I saw a new T-shirt in the store.
Wood does not have uniform density, which means one side of the yoyo (even on the half) can be heavier than the other. It also swells and contracts with moisture/dryness which leads to cracking and warping. So even if a wooden yoyo is precision made one cold dry day or warm moist day and it can physically change its shape. Considering the precision yo-yos are manufactured to today this does not make it a good material for modern performance yo-yos.

apparently the milkshake and al a mode. two amazing new crucial yoyos. The milkshake is easily the best offstring I’ve ever thrown.
