Traveling for work and found these in the local toy store.
Never seen or heard of this Schylling and for $8 had to see what was up. It has a hilarious amount of vibe, but honestly better guts than I was expecting, plus just look at those side effects 
I think I can mod it to accept actual SEs so I can put in a nice bearing, and figure out some way to do silicone response. All my random bits and tools are back home though so it’ll have to wait.

I had a well meaning family member buy me a Schylling from a toy store for Christmas last year. Loudest yoyo I’ve ever thrown. It made me feel physically ill throwing it I thanked them sweetly for it.

Well those days are gone with this new open air design… you’ll never have to remove C-clips again. And cleanup is a breeze!! Yeah… that’s all I’ve got.

Everything about it is bonkers: definitely dif-e-yo “inspired”, the only metal part seems to be the hub - the cup and inner/outer rims are plastic for sure, and don’t seem to be secured to each other at all.
The bearing is almost C sized, but the inner race is smaller diameter and the outer race is larger diameter, and overall width is thinner. The inner race is beveled and has this seem in the middle which is why it looks threaded

I mean, it’s not good, but also not bad tbh! I have a video of me throwing it stock and a slomo of the vibe, but I don’t think I can embed vids directly into a post? Do I have to upload them to YouTube or some other host first?

I remember watching a guy who made violins tear down a really cheaply made violin and he said something along the lines of “This is basically not even an actual violin. It’s a violin-shaped object,” and I always think about it in these kind of situations
That’s a yoyo-shaped object. Of course I’m sure you can do some kinds of tricks on it, but it’s made with little to no reverence to the craft, just a cheap thing to sell. It really is like a dif-e-yo got made based off a blurry polaroid of a distant yoyo.

I just picked up a light up one last weekend at my local Hobby Lobby that has the same awkward response deal. Mine just has a transaxle, though… Plenty of vibe, but not a terrible spin time. Silicone rims. Dangit. I’ll have to get a pic now.
The Yo Yo Super… 4 bucks at Hobby Lobby. Noisy, but playable. Wish I kept the packaging. There was a paper ring around where the yo yo sat that read: “Yo Yo Blazing Teens”. I’m still confused what they meant there. And they explained Around the World as throwing a sleeper, swinging it around 360 degrees, then pulling it up.
