Well guys it’s that time again it seems, and I’ll spare the long intro.
Introducing the “Flail”
The Flail was designed for my journey of learning 5a. I had a brief period of falling out of yoyo, at least from a 1a stance, doing the same tricks not having the motivation to learn or make new ones, trapped in a constant loop of insanity.
One day I looked at a Duncan Dice counterweight I owned, and thought, is today the day I really try out 5a forreal this time, and as I attached the weight to my yoyo and gave it a first through, a feeling came over me, refreshing, interesting, a difference in the pattern of doing the same tricks.
I proceeded to learn a few of the basic tricks and I felt a new love for yoyo again.
Now I must pause here to say I am not a 5a prodigy aha, but I basically said to my designer, almost as a joke, “hey so you know what would be cool even though Im no where near great at 5a yet, I wouldn’t say no if you designed a 5a version of the Morning Star
” (my 1a sig), and to my surprise he got back to me later just showing me he had done just that! What a guy eh!?
The “Flail” is the brother of my 1a sig the “Morning Star” designed for 5a but also great for people who want a no nonsense 1a yoyo.
Flail specs:
56mm Diameter
49mm width
66g weight
Made with the 7075 Alu and Inner ring design, creating a durable throw that can handle all the drops from 5a practice and keep you going.
For 1a the Flail has strong rotational force keeping it spinning throw your longest combos, or extended practice.
As the brother of the Morning Star I decided to evolve the design while keeping its roots.
What really set me on the name “Flail” is because how genius of an idea is it to name a yoyo ment to be swung with a weight for 5a, after a weapon that is meant to be swung with a weight for damage. Very proud of it.
As for now I don’t know if I’ll do a production run but if enough people message me with interest, I will consider it! (Same for the Morning Star *Tri-Material design*)
