Damn, a smaller than usual diameter plastic but now the width is wider. I just can’t win with getting the specs I’m looking for.

For context I have been saying I have wanted smaller diameter plastics on this forum forever and always have heard “it wont be powerful enough.” Ill live, just had to let it out haha.

I have the prototype (almost same as production). I do not know the exact spec yet. Since I am writing the design story soon. I will definitely know soon.

It seems to me that the same physics would apply to plastic as metal. I get that the material is not as dense thus the dilemma, but if smaller bearings make undersized metal more agreeable, it seems the same would apply to smaller plastic as well.

I’ve not seen a lot of talk about the Tachyon II. I just got one 2 days ago. It is a drastic shift away from what I have gravitated towards up until now. I got curious about how a fast yo-yo would feel and I really liked the concept behind the Tach2. Extremely fast, yet still incredibly stable… and light but with excellent string presence.
Here is where I say I am not a skilled player. This is not like you Phillip in your video when you talk about how rusty you are while making the yo-yo blur into a whirling show of light and color… 
While I am having fun with speeding up what I already know, I also found that this is an amazing throw for someone with joint pains or who; for whatever reason, finds it difficult to play for long periods of time. The fact that the Tachyon II changes direction so easily and feels so light makes it very low fatigue to throw. At the same time while not being a “built for comfort” throw, it’s still quite comfortable to throw. It also plays just as good slow as it does fast. You can change speed with it almost instantly from a crawl that is landing so soft in the mount to hopping it off into a lightning fast windmill or whatever roll-y, twisty, zingy tricks you like.
All in all, what I’m saying is that one doesn’t need to see the Tachyon 2 as a competitors only throw. It has something for everyone and it’s quite reasonably priced for the level of quality it has. Incredible finish, classy looks, and every corner and seam is perfectly fitted. Thank you for an excellent addition to my collection.

Wow. Thank you so much. This totally give me a unique perspective when making yoyos. Recently things has gone pretty compy. We will still do compy stuff. But I think we will release yoyos that are good to play but not catered towards the modern width. This is a very awesome example of that.

For me I avoid most wide stuff. I find it clunky and cumbersome to play. I prefre more space in the middle than bulk so organics kinda only get thrown occassionally? Undersizes are great, and V shapes too!! More narrow helps a lot with how I love to play, wider yoyos get in the way a lot. I will follow Yoyofriends to the grave for the release of the Baryon. The Tankette looked so cool, and the Koi line is also amazing. I want to try a mini hummingbird to compare for a review. I also want to eventually try one of each anniversary release!!
Around here a lot of us like more laid back yoyos I find. Atleast, it feels more vocal at times. But I also love aggressive stuff!! I love all kinds, and seeing the anodization options are often, well, most times have something really nice to look at, and I appreciate that about the company!
