YoyoFactory's Dream Titanium Released July 17th!

I will give you folks a little Positive information to set you at ease.

My girl and I, met Hans and his Wife for Easter Brunch. The ladies, obviously talked about lady stuff, lol.

Old Mo and YoHans talked about ‘Yoyo related Stuff’. One of the things we talked about was the New upcoming Titanium Yoyo from YYF. I know we can all Push questions around the table about Ti this and weight that. Rim weight, core weight, thickness of rims, angle of walls, width of gap, final stock bearing, response pads and any number of other variables.

Will the final weight be: 67,66, less than 66, etc.

Realistically, actual final weight within a gram or two +/- is not as important as effective weight placement. I have thrown 64 gram yoyos that feel like little rocks. And I have thrown 70 gram yoyos that feel 4 grams lighter ‘in flight’. (ps… I do not care for heavier yoyos).

I have been friends with Hans for about 18 years. He is not a ‘Negative thinker’. He Always focuses on being part of the Solution; not part of the problem. Ben and Hans, share, among other things, a similar trait of staying positive daily. They literally Refuse to accept that they cant get ‘something done’. They constantly challenge each other and those around them, to achieve results.

Their success is not a result of Luck. YYF is where it is as a direct result of the Effort/Energy/Determination/Creativity they bring into the Equation.

They are both believers in the view, ‘Anything short of doing something right is doing it wrong’.

They are Pullin out the Stops on this Ti Yoyo. Their extensive experience and the input of the Highly Skilled Yoyo players affiliated with YYF will result in a Yoyo that exceeds expectations.

Don’t burn calories speculating.

They are building a Beast. And nothing short of a Beast.

I don’t ever remember seeing Hans more Energized about a Project than he looked at the Brunch. He is seriously Pumped.

Everybody that bought into the Ti Perk, should be pumped too.

Well said. I’m pretty pumped to get mine, regardless of the weight. They’re not going to just give up and give us a terrible throw because they couldn’t get the weight to what they estimated originally…

And yet. You sold them online yet again. Imagine that.

Did the vibey Shu-Tas come in the Trust Ben pack? Haha.

I was gonna say, weight isn’t a be all, end all situation. With a Space Cowboy now in my collection and comparing it to the Slasher I can EASILY say that design makes sooooo much of a difference in how a yoyo plays. The Space Cowboy by all intensive purposed should feel heavier on the string vs the Slasher but in my opinion, is the complete opposite of the weighty feel that the Slasher has and just light and poppy. I’m not trying to say that one design is better than the other or anything like that but assuming that something is going to suck or at least not be up your alley based on a single piece of the puzzle is really selling yourself short on your options.

Hmm never realized how much I relied on euphemisms.

Anything that is “purchased” on a crowdfund should be considered a donation and furthermore a B-Grade that is based on anno probably never even gets tested for playability anyway right? Wouldn’t it auto-fail after an ano run and then get thrown to the “seconds” pile for potential giveaways, B-grades?

Expecting perfect or even near perfect performance on something that costs less than half the retail price is pretty wishful thinking imho.

The Guy that posted about his vibrating yoyos said YYF worded it themselves as “ano-flaws only”. Meaning someone tested it. It would be wishful thinking if Ben had just said “these are b-grades”, but that is not what they said. YYF has run into these problems with b-grades before, obviously they don’t learn from their own mistakes! But whatever, they’ve got their $30+k.

And really, its just a discount. You’re paying money, they’re giving you goods, you know what goods youre getting. That is selling. It just happens to be that the money is going toward the titanium.

I have the exact two Shu-Ta’s that are B-Grades and I can tell you that they both play perfectly fine.

After about a minute of tuning they are both smooth as can be. This was with the flat bearing that it came with. Nobody knows what that other persons issue was without seeing it themselves first hand so we can all just speculate but with that said, $25 for a 7075 aluminum yoyo is ridiculously cheap.

I really think this thread should just focus on the new YYF TI at this point and just let that issue drop as it really isn’t productive and merely starts a flame war that is childish at best.

I’m still waiting for an email.
Must be hard to reach…

B-grade or not, when a lot of product gets sold, there will be some bad units that fall through the cracks. Getting super vibey throws when the only advertised issue was ano flaws is a legitimate gripe, but it’s one that should be taken up with the person the product was purchased from, and certainly doesn’t seem to be indicative of the overall quality of stuff sold through the indiegogo as everyone else seems to be pleased with their purchases.

As far as the weight of the Ti goes…I love light yoyos but I don’t really care whether this one falls at 64.5 or 66 or whatever weight, I have faith that the yoyo will be made such that it performs very well. I didn’t spend the $200 because I wanted a Ti at X weight, I spent it because I wanted a full size Ti for $200.

I’m sure it will play like a beast regardless of the final weight, but I completely understand Ben wanting to tweak it so that he absolutely loves it and gets good reviews from other testers as well.

I completely trust it will end up awesome, and already know it will likely immediately jump to being my favorite throw. But my personal preference would lean towards the lighter side of between 55 and 56 grams. Only reason for that, is that I know the weight distribution capabilities of titanium, and from the current cross sections that we have, this throw will be fairly heavily rim weighted, which will allow great spin times with lighter weights. I also understand the possibility that even with the weight distribution capabilities of titanium that it could still be made too light, and I’m sure Ben won’t let that happen to a point where performance is negatively effected.

I’m just pumped no matter what the final weight is. Waiting another month and a half or so is going to be so difficult.

Eye candy break. ;D YoyoExpert color Horizon. I wonder if I have the only one. This is a closeup from the Trust Ben Pack. Thanks Fact’ry!

What I love about your posts is that you always totally get ALL the information before posting rambling bs. You read carefully, get information from both sides (like if Ben had even been contacted about it) and then make an informed comment (totally not wild conjecture and accusations based on personal bias).

It’s too bad that Ben totally didn’t make a public post on FB saying how they stand behind their product and try to fix problems when they occur. That would have been nifty huh? but I mean, since you always get your information -before- making insane posts, you would have known about something like that right?

Kyle

Lol i thought it was because of the way he worded it

Oh, I’m sorry, Kyle. But do you know what i love? that Ben and YYF have stopped selling B-Grades online how many times? And here they are doing it again, telling us why they don’t do it. I don’t give a darn about Ben’s Facebook, it was brought up here and he had very little to say about it. I’m not gonna hunt down every word Ben has typed in the last three days to see what’s up. I’m gonna use exactly what he wrote right God darn here.

What he wrote here is “we have ano flaw b-grades for sale online”— “oh, more than an ano flaw? That’s why we don’t do this online”. And I’m the crazy one.
