@yoyodoc you seeing this? The FUTURE of mods
Awesome!
Second batch coming up.
Made some changes to the files. We’ll see in a few hours if I made ’em better.
Whoah, how did you get the base template design with the bearing and everything?
I’m surprised how literally everything is able to get a template I would only be able to dream of like the 9D Sleeve dimensions for the fits and stuff… And how did you manage to get your hands on a freaking nine dragons CAD file?
I made the drawing for it. It’s easy because I own one so I measured and guesstimated some dimensions.
You can find the bearing file on McMaster Carr’s website (R188 model bearing). Every bearing or part they sell has an accompanying 3d model.
Can’t seem to find it… Do you have like a hyperlink or something
After some 6 hours I present to to you the mk. 2
Definitely better but still needs improvement.
The sleeves aren’t wide enough so it doesn’t close on the bearing
Also the fit on the spacer is too tight. So next up:
-taller sleeves
-looser spacer seat
Otherwise the fit is excellent. Such a shame so many hours later there’s a defect. Oh well.
Just found this thread, I haven’t even read it all yet - THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! Nice work.
Just part of the process, and you’re treading new-ish ground here! 9 dragons as a “weight ring”
Indeed. Gotta fail a few times to succeed.
Did you ever try the V5 shells from YYF? Those reminds me a bit of them, really cool to see some variations of 9D shells.
Huh, didn’t know about those.
I knew about the v5 catch zone TPK makes
but had no idea that 9D had them. The more you know.
9Dragons is a collaboration between TPK and YYF, the old version(without the dimple) has the TPK logo on it as well. I think all the TPK catch zone parts are compatible with the 9D.
My 9D has a TPK logo as well. Had no clue they had any part interchangeability though.
Mighty interesting.
Ohh lol. didn’t realize The logos were only on one half duhh.
The project is now on Thingiverse right here:
Go try it out if possible
It’s WiP and I included the profile drawing for it so it’s pretty easily adjustable by people if there’s a problem.
Great colours on that yoyo!
56 cubed ‘‘V’’ design. I call it the Dark Roast.
How do you add decals?
