Yoyo Boomers Club

The Metal Harbinger is the best 0A metal. Get your hands on one of those if you can.

This is an old style XT. The new ones added a few grams IIRC. They are opaque.

Made sure to show The Count the good life, since it’ll never see a competition stage otherwise.

My wife and I just got our BMW going after a long and drawn out process of refreshing some things in the engine. It feels nice.

Harbinger is pretty much end game for my 0A play. I bring it absolutely everywhere, its purpose built and built perfectly

I really like the harbinger. I think I enjoy how open the weekender is I just wish the bearing was smaller. All my responsive YoYo’s fit a mood

2nd call for Dead 'Orse pif. seeing if anyone else wants to play before she makes her way home

So one thing I will say about the Northeast Regionals was that @YoYoExpertEric seemed to be very tied up with teaching people to yo-yo most of the day. I saw he had a little help from time to time, but the man certainly was being worked hard!

Maybe the Boomers club can volunteer to help at events where we have members nearby? For certain I’ll make sure to volunteer next time Northeast Regionals comes around.

The Origen, Workhorse, Weekender, PLTPS, all play different from each other for sure. The Weekender was my EDC until I got the Workhorse. I absolutely love my Workhorse - but the fingerspin cups on the Weekender may ear it its spot back as my EDC soon. All of them are great fun throws for sure! Welcome to the club and enjoy the ride.

My workhorse is my EDC currently, though I’ve been practicing my responsive 5a with the PLTPS. I can’t speak to the Origen, or Weekender. What I can say is the Spinworthy Dead’Orse (which I don’t own…yet.) is an AMAZING wooden 0a beast.

For 0A I really like the Workhorse, PLTPS, Plasm, Duncan Wheels (modded), and No Jive flying camel. I have at least one (usually more) of those nearby at all times. As much as the Weekender gets mentioned, I really should pick one up.

Other fun responsives that don’t get as much play include Deep State, Slim Jim, Thing, Origen, Firecracker, Apollo, and many others I’m forgetting.

There’s a few modern responsives I’ve been on the hunt for too, including the SW KNack, MK1 x SW Harbinger, El Mijo , and Janus.

How are your wheels modded?

I’ve found the new crappy ones actually play well if you just swap out the plastic bushing for a slim C bearing, but the one I play the most I also removed most of the starburst and cut a groove for flowable silicone.

I’ve considered 3D printing an insert to allow use of a smaller diameter bearing, but it’s low on the priority list of my current projects.

Speaking of playing crappy. I snagged a Hyper Accel Origin, and the response is terrible.

Even with a thicker string and some Chapstick.

It almost feels like the starburst isn’t raised enough.

Bummer! I picked up a hyper accel orig, loop, and wing and the response on all 3 is doing great so far.
