Call for Donations: Help Keep The Yoyo Archive Online

It’s that time of year again. Domain fees, hosting costs, the usual, and The Yoyo Archive doesn’t make a dime on its own, so this is where you come in.

Operating costs for this year have come in around $200 total. That’s not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it’s also not nothing when the site runs entirely on community goodwill. If the archive has ever helped you find a review, track down a piece of yo-yo history, or settle a debate about an old throw, consider tossing a few dollars toward keeping it running.

Donations are handled through Liberapay: liberapay.com/theyoyoarchive/donate or GiveWP: Donate to the Archive - The Yoyo Archive .

Sponsor the Archive

The Yoyo Archive currently has 3 sponsor slots available, and sponsorships can be purchased monthly or annually.

Sponsors will receive space in the site footer and on the Supporters page. Featured Sponsors will also appear in the homepage sponsor ticker.

These are the only places on The Yoyo Archive where sponsors will appear. The goal is to support the Archive while keeping the site itself as ad-free and unobtrusive as possible.

Sponsorship is available only to yo-yo-related companies, clubs, and organizations. The Yoyo Archive will review all sponsors before they go live and reserves the right to decline any sponsorship.

My recurring donations ended because my bank is convinced that liberapay is a scam every single month. Every month they would decline the donation and I would have to call them manually and speak to a person to get it unblocked and a couple times they completely shut my debit card off over it thinking it was compromised. I have no idea why :joy:

So if you have another option for donations I’m there haha. I just ran out of free time to continuously battle my bank.

I’ll defend liberapay, they’re open source and have been around forever, and I was easily able to donate through it :slight_smile:

to make a one time payment just do a manual renewal payment

The amount raised didn’t go up but I got a receipt for $100 so it probably went through.

Exactly what I was going to say. They’re one of the few donation platforms that takes NO commission and doesn’t hold your money in a weird middle-man account with a high minimum payout threshold. The only fees are from Stripe (if you use Stripe, which you should because PayPal suck), but they’re an actual payment processor so their fees are basically nothing.
