Yoyo Appraisal Thread

What were they, $55 or $35 on eBay (I don’t remember…)

Either way, probably less than that.

any ideas? im looking at trying to pick one of these up but cannot find pricing and the seller is clueless.

Well there’s only 8 so pricing will be a bit tough :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe Studio picked one up for around $70 at Worlds. I assume that if they make more, they’re retail for about the same as the Synthesis - $135

brand : spyy
yo-yo: the revenger
paint: purple with white splash
condition: one tiny pin prick and a tiny scuff on the rim out of the catch zone but not in the cup
what would this be worth

Who painted it?

i got it off ebay so idk i think its from spyy but like i said i dont know exactly who painted it

I’m pretty sure you mean annodization, not paint.

a pic could clear this right up

My guess would be the $50 range

Yeah this. Maybe a little closer to 60. I mean the value could potentially go up now that SPYY is gone. :frowning:

Mint NSCO Aurora

My guess would be $200-$250. Something in that region. Or whatever LinksLegionaire will give you cause I know it’s on his wants list if you have a spare one…

I’ve seen a couple go for $200 recently

I’m guessing you haven’t. I have seen 3 listed in the last comple of months. Some of them listed low like that, but I tried to buy all of them, and bought 2 of them. I paid over $300 for 2 of them, and was out bid on the third when I stopped at $375.

Just because a yoyo has a listed value on the BST does not mean that was the final sale value. As such, it is hard to know how much people are willing to pay for sure, because unlike ebay, there is no record of actual sale prices. That makes a lot of the stuff in this thread VERY speculative at best.

A blemished one was listed on the BST recently for $275. And the poster was admitting to be selling at a loss, as he was disappointed in the condition after buying it. I have been hunting these. I’m a buyer all day at $250. For sure.

Lol. I was wondering if you saw that $200-$250.

It’s worth what crazy people like me and you will pay. They become harder and harder to get once in the hands of someone like me that’s a “fact”.

Sorry if I offended you but I was just stating what I had seen recently on the BST. If a bidding war happens I have no idea about it. I saw a yoyo listed for $200 which is what the person selling wanted and apparently had a bidding war between 2 individuals which raised the price. I guess I can say the set price is $250 now since there’s a guaranteed buyer.

I’ve recently seen a lot of hype around titanium throws and would be willing to bet the beat tirade I have in my case would go past the $200 mark now even though I only paid $150 for it when it was new

How public was the bidding? Are you certain you bid against another legitimate buyer? I know on Ebay, you can see the bidding sequence. How do you see all this in a BST transaction? Did you communicate with the other buyer, or was he/she unknown to you? Or, did the seller just tell you that “someone offered more?”

I’m just curious.

$30

I suspect in 2 cases the bidding was legit, because in one of them, I lost the bid, and the buyer quickly resold at a loss because the yoyo wasn’t mint. In the other case, I suspect the bidding was legit, because he listed the yoyo for $200, and then got a few e-mails right away, masking him realize he under priced it. I responded within an hour of the post, and he said he needed to consider the fact that people were offering him more. I made a bid that was my highest, as did others, I suspect, and I never raised my bid. I just put it out there.

In these situations I have a strategy:

I offer a fair price, and a short window. I will say (in the case of my recent Sovereign Purchase for example), I’ll pay $500. The offer is good for 12 hours. Let me know. That way the buyer has to decide if my offer is good enough, or if wants to risk losing it. Sometimes it works, sometimes I lose. I’m ok, as I never pay more than I am willing.

I know I made one offer on an aurora like that, and the seller came back and said he had a better offer, and did not ask for money. I can’t imagine he was lying. In the other case, I got the aurora. In a third case there was no bidding, I combed through the B/S/T and tracked down someone who looked like they let their post lapse with it unsold, and just e-mailed them an offer. It was accepted. It was expensive. There were 68 of these, and they are actually really cool. I like mine a lot.
