Freaking score! I love frequenting antique malls and flea markets and am always on the hunt for YoYos but usually come up pretty empty handed or they are usually non exciting things like imperials and butterflies that are marked at retail prices lol.

That’s what I find most often. I take pictures of all the ones I find for the most part even if I don’t buy them. Started a “yoyo hunting” highlight reel on my ig. It’s fun to find them in the wild even when it’s an overpriced imperial I don’t buy lol.

I have a question on these two. I am not looking to sell, but recently my friend asked me out of curiosity what these two in my collection are worth . Of all my collection these are the two I don’t know the value of. Both mint. Spellbound has original cardboard box and papers. I can get better pics at home later. Ineffable Throws sabre and spellbound . Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Any idea a value on these guys. Both minty, spellbound has cardboard box and paperwork , sabre has paperwork.

saber is probably around the $150-175 mark with the case
spellbound i’d probably put closer to $80-100 but i think this one will be harder to sell than the saber
maybe to a collector they’d be worth slightly more but IMO the demand isn’t there to justify going much higher

Yes, it’s a BvsM. The RvsNM is a very rare colorway (12 made if I remember correctly) and takes its name from the body color (gun metal and yellowish splashes, the body and fluid of a Robot) and the red splashes (the Ninja’s blood spatters)… the colorway @ajcheeta asked for the name of, however, is from one of the very latest releases of this yo-yo model and in the last editions, a name wasn´t often given to the colorway and it was quite common (in the sense of not extremely limited), so much so that if I remember correctly it was distributed in stores. The Robot vs Ninja Moose (one of the rarest and most sought-after BvsM) has a very different value than this one.

That makes me feel a little better, I got it kinda cheap, and it vibes strong enough to the point of a wobble, nearly. It makes sense that this is from a larger run.
It’s still an interesting yo-yo, and it even has a nice color scheme in my opinion. The fact that it has a significant vibration is probably due to some issues during the manufacturing of the cups, and it’s obviously a B-grade (Fool’s Gold for Clyw) not so much for the number of pieces produced but in the end, for a low price, it’s an interesting yo-yo, excellent in my opinion.
The robot Vs Ninja Moose colourway name was picked as part of a competition, my friend Kieran suggested it, and received one as the prize. I’m afraid I don’t know how exact reasoning.
You’re totally right that the one originally shown was a different edition though, my mistake! I vaguely remember it having a name too, but that’ll be lost to the days of Yoyonation…

Hi, I haven´t doubt that your friend was the one who suggested the name in the contest (a contest I wasn’t aware of, thanks for sharing). Ask him if the idea behind the name is the same as mine. I’ve always given the interpretation that seemed most logical to me, but perhaps he was inspired by other factors. Congratulations, anyway, for owning one of the objects that have most intrigued me, but above all because he’s the “putative father” of this historic yo-yo!

How much would a Citizen go for these days?
recently I’ve seen a heavily damaged one move for around $200-250, most of the ones in nice condition tend to go above $500 easily though, with box and stuff towards $6-700+, though I haven’t seen one on the market recently so im not sure if the demand is still there

Saw one selling recently with damage for around $250, and I’ve seen a mint one listed for close to $1000, so there’s definitely a range lately
