Here’s one other i wondered about. Now i know the normal Yomega Glide was never worth very much. But to my knowledge, they never released this colorway publicly because it had a wobble. It may have been sorted out and they may have released it at one point later.
I actually wrote them directly to purchase it.
But I was curious has anyone seen the oil slick variant of the glide and what is its value?
Your response focused more on saying I was vague than on including actually relevant information for the person who asked.
Being direct and not giving too many details about something that isn’t relevant to the market is perfectly normal, especially since it’s a yo-yo that’s almost 20 years old and 99% of forum users probably don’t even know the name or brand of the manufacturer. Therefore, the price I described was based on what it can be sold for in Brazil, and the chance of someone paying $200 for a yo-yo like the one mentioned is close to 0%.
It’s a bi metal koi prototype, don’t know exactly how many (asked the person I bought it from who was sponsored by yoyo friends, he said probably around 5). They prototyped this, and it was too similar to the original koi which is why they changed it into a stingray. Lots of people sold stingray prototypes calling them bi metal kois, but this is a real bi metal koi prototype. Perfect condition dead smooth, just really curious on an estimate value, and I totally understand if it’s hard to estimate a value.
I thought I’d check on this one more time to see if anyone has any information on my Yomega Glide (OilSlick colorway) post above? No matter the value, its still a cool time in history that has nostalgic value for me at least. However if there was monetary value to it, that would be cool to know also. (Just for the sake of knowing)
If there’s no knowledge out there about this… its totally cool. Just seems rare. Too bad it wasn’t a more sought after brand
I’ve been receiving a few offers on this little guy over the last few months, and I’m still reluctant to sell because the offers have been very different from each other, but there were a few that gave me a signal that I “should sell” hahaha
Canvas Painted Owls (hand painted by Jensen Kimmitt), 1 of 6 made.
It’s 99% mint, flawless, smooth and complete. If it’s been played for half an hour in all these years, that’s been a lot.
What would be a realistic average price these days?
To me, it’s 100% mint. I spent a few minutes analyzing it and looking for any flaws, and found nothing beyond what’s expected for a product “machined by OneDrop”. I’d say 99% to allow for a margin of error based on my “analysis”
A little late to the party, but thanks for posting this!
I have a 1st run MCMO and played around with a few different types of side effects with it. I went to check on it after reading this and realized that I accidentally put regular flat caps in it (I have a few pairs of silver flat caps) and my Markmont flats were just sitting in a baggie being unused.
I have since corrected that mistake and put the original Markmont flats back on my MCMO
