I stopped being a girl a long time ago…and have been a woman for awhile now. I’m like the disc jockey on the radio that you listen to every day, and then you see their picture and you’re like WHAT! :o
People call me “bro” or “dude” on Instagram sometimes. If I talk to them a lot, I correct them, but otherwise, I just remain a “bro” and a “dude.” After all, it usually doesn’t have much relevance to the yo-yos anyway. On rare occasion, it does matter.
But, I never take offense of the presumption, because most in this hobby are males, so they just presume they are conversing with other males. Also, males say interesting things about females when they think they are talking to another male. I get to be a fly on the wall. So, I occasionally amuse myself and get a chuckle. Me being female usually comes up as relevant in an argument when someone is losing a debate on here though, so you’ll see it from time to time Or, there might be a gender thread post where it comes up. But, when talking yo-yo, it rarely comes up.
It’s not only the hobby being predominantly male, but I’m pretty hands on about creating and fixing things, so things don’t always align with the stereotypes I guess. Oh, and my yo-yo raps… I met several of the members here in person, and hung out with a few too.
I love being a woman, I wish you could know how cool it really is.

As far as typing goes, anyone can be a girl (or woman ;)) and other people wouldn’t know.
Everyone knows abby is a girl because of her name/photo colors/name.
I almost want to correct the people on Instagram for a joke sometimes.

To tell you the truth, I like your hairstyle. Super long hair is just an inconvenience IMO. You just have to take care of it. They both look good IMO, but your smart keeping it shorter.
There is the girl in my class. She looks pale, with black eyes. She looks like a Vampire.
Super SUPER long hair, dark mascara around the eyes making it look devilish, and then… Ugh. Creeps me out to sit in class…

that’s exactly what I think. That and I have ha short hair all my life for as long as I remember. I have just always liked it and despised long hair cause IMO it’s too much work in the morning.
