Have you asked museums? NY States was held at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. It worked really nicely; they had a big auditorium, a cafeteria, and a good space for vendors.

Yeah I have a call with the Smithsonian group later this month. To see about that, so far pricing is kind of high but I would be okay with that depending on the restrictions,

Yeah I don’t personally drink. For both health reasons and because I’m just not that person. I can maybe nurse half a beer for an event for appearances but that’s about it.
I didn’t even realize the venue was a 21+ place until we got to a point I mentioned the structure of the contest and age group. Before that I was excited like boom this is the venue it ticks all the boxes then we got the gotcha. Bleh.
This is why i came here though to see what others think.
The DC area is dumb lol. I’m tempted to say Sod it and go back with the Richmond science museum but they raised the rates sense last year and where already kind of high and then I’m out if pocket for more stuff in my end. Ohh well I have more calls with more interesting places to see what’s possible.

I know very little about the DC area so my suggestion is email Bethesda game studios and tell them I will print them Nuka Cola cap yo-yos if they let you use their headquarters building for it.
