Why doesn’t CLYW make old model?!?

I imagine a big reason those throws are so sought after is because they aren’t made anymore and are difficult to get. If they started reproducing them they would lose that affect. Also, I think that you should always be moving forward in business.
You can be the band that keeps touring on that same old music, or you can be the band that strives to create what’s next.

Idk about you but when a band starts playing new material I head for the bathroom

I have been lucky enough to score an Orca, a Puffin and just recently an Avalanch on ebay here in the UK and I am most pleased with all three

Their old yo-yos just have a different feel right?

They do. I personally like the old feel better, but some of new ones scream clyw as well (the manatee for example).

Are you referring to the Peak 2? That’s an example of a remake where they “updated it for modern play standards”, making it a different yoyo from the original. That doesn’t mean it isn’t good, but it means that it’s different enought that it won’t necessarily satisfy the buyer who wants the original Peak (for whatever reason).

Yes I was. I haven’t played one but it looks very similar to the original. I’m sure though that there are differences in play. I mean the original Peaks from run to run were a little different.

Well, based on CLYW’s own ad copy, I’d expect the two to play fairly differently (that certainly seemed to be their goal):

It’s ten years later now and CLYW has cleaned up the original design, brought it up to modern play standards, and is ready to unleash the Peak 2 for a whole new generation of players to enjoy!

The Peak 2 features that same nostalgic shape you all know and love with design some modern changes to the bearing seat and response area. The weight distribution has been shifted to make it play even smoother, floatier, and improve stability.

CLYW never machined yoyo’s “in house” they’ve always been machined by a separate company.

Having owned several OG Peaks, and the Peak2, they do play different. There is a familiarity with them both, but they do play different.

You’re probably right, but I could swear that they had their own lathe around 2009 when I started yoyoing.
