Why do some in BST request F&F only?

GSSF, Glock Shooting Sports Foundation. Cheap to join, get a blue label discount every year and you can travel the entire country to win guns haaha.

No lying, the very first match I went to they gave me a gun for random prize. I’ve won four more since then. Winning three divisions bumped me to Master and that means they choke the prizes and can only be awarded one per match. But cash and gear is ok! Haaaha

GSSF also has an indoor league where you can win a gun and other prizes. Its great, get there shoot for 90 seconds (50 rounds), and done. In and out in 15 mins haaha. 3gun and USPSA take me 5-6 hours. I can’t do that anymore.

Also get into sporting clays. My buddy’s dad wins a gun every quarter at these charity shoots. Good guns not junk. Beretta shotguns and pistols and such, no Bersa and HiPoints hahaha

Ahhh no way! Dude thank you for this info, i hate Glocks but still that sounds so much fun. Ive heard of the GSSF but had no idea it was a sporting association, thought it was just a group but discount for glocks. Maybe we’ll run in to eachother someday if i start up :joy:

Also I’ve been shooting skeet and trap for about a decade now and have to say it’s a wonderful way to spend a day. Reminds be of golf but with guns lol

PayPal user agreement everyone using the service acknowledges these terms.

" Receiving payments

If you use your PayPal account to receive payments for the sale of goods or services or to receive donations, you must:

  • Pay any applicable fees for receiving the funds.
  • Not ask your buyer to send you money as a personal transaction (often referred to as using the “Send Money to a Friend or Family Member” feature). If you do so, PayPal may remove your PayPal account’s ability to accept payments from friends or family members.

By integrating into your online checkout/platform any functionality intended to enable a payer without a PayPal account to send a payment to your PayPal account, or by sending an invoice for a payment request, you agree to all further terms of use of that functionality which PayPal will make available to you on any page on the PayPal or Braintree website (including any page for developers and our Legal Agreements page) or online platform. Such further terms include the PayPal Alternative Payment Methods Agreement."

It’s for tax purposes, if you do a lot of G&S it’ll become taxable which is a massive pain.

This is a silly tirade to go on when you can, in fact, deduct your gaming losses to offset any winnings.

If you think gambling losses should be fully deductible against any income, then you haven’t thought through the behavioral implications of such a policy.

This is wrong. You can get a 1099-K from eBay from your online store, but if you’re losing money on your sales from that operation, you’re not paying taxes. You will need to report your losses and show your work if you eventually get audited though.

A 1099 won’t help same me any time. Having to deal with an additional 1099 could be quite time consuming considering I would need to know the purchase price of every yoyo then I’d have to know the sale price of every yoyo and then I’d have to calculate the profit or loss so that I’m taxed on the correct amount and not the total gross sales.

As I stated before. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Ok so what I’m trying to say is that $600+ triggers a 1099k, yes we both agree? That 1099k shows the IRS that you have taxable income, yes we all agree? So this does mean that the government says one owes taxes for a 1099k that is $600+.

Now you’re absolutely correct that the liability depends on the preparation. One can take losses or gains and then will be taxed accordingly

In other words… your gains and losses do matter. Because of course they do

They don’t know your gains and losses until the calculations are done. All that matters is that if you do $600+ in G&S sales, you’re going to get a 1099k. How one prepares their side is on them.

I’ll reword my post to clarify

Sorry, I left out a ‘word’… I think TurboTax actually should have a space where you report how much money you lost gambling, and the government factors that into cut your taxes, a little downward.

I inadvertently left out the word gambling in the text that you quoted. And the incorrect read at least up until I caught it makes it seem like I don’t know what a profit and loss statement is lol
