I’ll update my answer I really like the first base for plastic.
Thank you for the insights. Good for me to know if I should add the plastic peak to collection. The 000 spins forever for a plastic. I’m looking for fun organic shaped throws. My ol’ YYJ Kickside has been nice to pick up once in a while.
New thrower here but for me it is a tie between the Shooting Star and Fulvia. The Speedaholic XX just isn’t as forgiving as the Shooting Star. It the fingerspins are a tad bit easier for me with the Speedaholic but the Shooting Star I’m landing tricks more frequently.
The Fulvia is very different. Super solid, floaty, fun…the aesthetic is 10/10 for me.
FH1 polycarb.
Expensive but I’m liking the organic side of it. I think one can get a mid range monometal at that price.
So different but both are so great. I had to go with the Speedaholic but I do really like the FB.
Dove would be up there for me too.
I love the Dove but mine doesn’t have great spin time. It feels kind of like the bearing is over lubed. I’ve never cleaned or lubed it, or even taken the yoyo apart. It’s always been so smooth and quiet that I just wanted to leave it alone. But recently I keep contemplating either cleaning or swapping the bearing because the spin time is the only reason I sometimes pass it over and pick up another yoyo. Then I chicken out because I don’t want anything about it to change besides a bit more spin time.
I feel your pain, man. I go through the same dilemma with some of my other throws. I’m sure we’re not alone in this.
I don’t know why, but I could never get into the Fulvia. It seems like a great yo-yo, but I’ve tried so many times to give it another chance and I just never connect with it. I’ve tried various strings, changed the bearing, etc. I bought it at the same time as the Speedaholic XX because I couldn’t decide between the two. I immediately fell in love with the Speedaholic and it will always be one of my favorites. But I wouldn’t miss the Fulvia if it disappeared today. I later gave the 000 a try, and I like it much more than the Fulvia. I don’t play with the 000 a ton, but I get into it once in awhile.
I’ve been using the Atmos Snowberry on the reg since I got it hands down the most used throw for me so much I purchased a second just cause
I still love the Yoyorecreation New Diffusion. I still find myself reaching for the Diffusion even when “superior” throws are right next to it. It has great performance and a very neutral feel that makes it very predictable and good for learning new things.
Ok, the PNIR is officially my favorite plastic yoyo. In fact, in just a day, it’s worked its way into the top three in my collection. It plays like a Durendal and finger spins better than the Shooting Star and the AOE.
I know this is almost a year later but, man. I wish they came to the US, I love the clear silver version, im sad I missed out on it.
(Blegh I dunno why it doesn’t set as reply)
It’s a Takeshi FHZ mod. Clear with pink. Best plastic in the case.
its 2024 and things changed. I like DIY better now, lol.
pleak shill until the day i die. first plastic yoyo i picked up that could take my attention away from my metal throws
I already have two on the way …Along with lots of other new stuff from YYR.
