I haven’t actually destroyed any 3a yoyo ever. They got damage to the surface and various levels of vibe but they all still play well like destruction to unusable is kinda hard to do ime.

That’s what I was referring to the surface and the vibe especially if you choose a bi metal. Usually, I get flat spots from where they bang together, but still completely usable. Some people try to keep yo-yos as shelf queens or mostly mint and as much as I’m able to do that with a 1a yoyo. With 3a and 5a yo-yos they will get battle scars along the way but especially when you start the learning process it will happen and b-grades coming in at a lower price point reduces the guilt you’ll feel as it gets the love marks. And usually it’s for vibe or ano flaws which will happen within a few minutes of starting to work on either division.

When I wrote that I forgot about cracking rims off of yoyojams trying to learn sword dancer back in the day. So I guess I have destroyed yo-yos doing 3A😂

Yeah this is a good point like the yoyos are definitely going to get damage and it does make sense to start w something cheaper. I read destroyed like to a point where the yoyos can’t be used anymore and didn’t want people to get the wrong idea like I just don’t want anyone to avoid the style bc of that. The cracking of hybrid yyjs makes sense tho but is also easy to avoid. Sword dancer is so cool still hah prolly worth it
