What woods for Blood Cell yoyo would you like?

Hi people.

I want to spin up some Cells (used to be Blood Cell).

I can get myself some exotic woods shipped to me, but It’s not something I want to bother with unless people would want to buy them.

What variants would you like to see for the run?

So, give a vote if you please.

  • Exotics only (purple heart, zebrawood)
  • Trusty regulars only (White oak, maple)
  • White oak and purple heart
  • Maple and purple heart
  • White oak and zebrawood
  • Maple and zebrawood

I voted for maple, white oak and zebra wood. Maple and white oak are classic woods for a reason, zebra wood is just beautiful to look at, and my one zebra wood yoyo is a great player as well.

What’s the relative weight of these woods?

Purple heart is on the heavy side, like around 60g. The others will be about 50g. Maple will be more like 44-46g.

What about bloodwood? Seems name appropriate for this run.

Yes it would be! However, it would weigh too much. Over the 70g mark.

Purpleheart, zebra, and white oak.

I want whatever wood makes it look like a tasty breakfast pastry.

I agree 100%.

Also, this yoyo will forever be named Blood Cell in my heart.

Weight weenies, the lot of you.

I love the Purpleheart Harbinger at 70g. Would love a Purpleheart Cell for the same reason. These lighter (in color and weight) woods just seem… blah.

I think I’ll aim for white oak, zebrawood and purpleheart.

Be bold … go for balsa, Glen.

Hahaha!! I can easily get a hold of big bits of balsa!

It would have to have a diameter of 150mm to be the right weight!

Do it do it do it.

After a few hits to the ground, the diameter would be worked down to about 50mm. Balsa is some soft, light wood.

You would buy a Balsa Blood Cell @adamantiumpops? (yes I’ve gone back to the original name because I agree with @EOS44)
