What’s the thinnest yo-yo

Just wondering what the thinnest modern responsive yo-yo is? I like carrying a yo-yo in my pocket and the thinner the better. Is there anything slimmer than a day tripper? I used to love the Duncan professional and would love an aluminum version of that. What’s your thoughts?

the yoyo recreation 5ive thats slowly rolling out and sells out every time it drops somewhere is by far the thinnest thing in my collection right now. if you swap the A bearing to a thinner one you can drop it a mm if you really want that

Those 5ive’s look interesting and are in stock on their website but I couldn’t figure out how to buy one. There is some translation needed.

also obligatory ZGRT el mijo polycarbonate is a great thin pocket yoyo. it used to be my main pocket yoyo until fixed axle February where ive had all my fun wood yoyos front and center (yes it has a d blank but wood is good)

How would you compare the Mijo Poly to the 5ive? I like the A bearing.

Play wise the mijo is just better. It feels more solid and it plays great both for more 1A focused tricks and 0a depending on your preference especially with the various d bearing options. The 5ive almost feels like a looper with its tight gap and feels a bit cheaper in the hand not as solid. With the said the impact from yyrec is heavier and a bit silly with its C bearing but if greased plays really great for stalls and I usually dont love 0a on a c bearing.

But the 5ive is significantly cheaper in price than every option so I could get 3 5ive and still have money leftover

I will note I’ve been playing my 5ive with a 3d printed blank recently so I may be conflating past and more recent experiences

deep state, el mijo, el tio, el poly-o (poly carb el mijo) are among the slimmest modern responsive yoyos. all are around 28mm or slimmer with responsive bearings.

deep state is my personal favorite of the bunch.

Deep State (original) is doing it for me, it’s giving me the best of both worlds of modern responsive and normal 1a stuff. Width-wise I think it’s just as wide as my Duncan Professional, just different profile as it’s lightly flared.

the deep states 1A and 0A capabilities are why it was my daily carry for years

The thinnnest yoyo I have used is the Duncan Imperial.

The Oh-Yo: 15mm width. Not a modern responsive, but it’s the thinnest metal yo-yo I’ve come across.

The thinnest yo-yo ever made, regardless of material, would likely be either the plastic Cracker Jack yo-yo (I still need to create its exhibit) or the plastic Duncan Junior:
