Not made in USA
We found a spot where our local vendors could supply it at a great price. Then we ran into supply problems, inferior quality, increasing costs. It just stopped working. Combine that with the cost of our other yo-yos coming down closer to it and all of a sudden you could get a DV888 for almost the same price. Still we tried and tried and we are putting the pieces back together a different way and are close to making it work again!
Thanks for the info. I only had the box shot to go on. Is the machine shop you had problems with in the past the same one you are currently using? If not, can you tell us if the new runs will continue to be US Made or will you be switching it to your current Chinese machine shops?
Switching gears a little bit, it looks like in order to get a low price point you have to make a small yo-yo. I would consider the Dingo and the POPstar more of a novelty. That is by no means a slam against them, I have not played a POPstar so I cannot comment on the play but I found the Dingo to be a blast to throw. That being said, I probably would not use them as an everyday throw.
As for RecRev, can anyone confirm their yo-yos are US made… or even still around?
RecRev doesn’t count. When you scam people, and don’t pay your machinists, you don’t count as a legitimate yoyo maker.
bimetal is yyj nextlevel?
Bruh, I used to get my Neuaes for $5 a pop at local Yoyo meetings… Do discounts count or does it have to be retail price?
That is a good question, I would say it has to be retail pricing for A-Grade stock.
A company could give a great price on a product by selling direct at a meet or competition but I would say that is not indicative of the price for the general public. That is more along the lines of drumming up positive word of mouth by getting the yo-yo in the public’s hands before a mass release.
Yeah, I’m almost 75% sure they are made in the USA, I could check with a couple of my local buddies who might know him better if you want.
surprised to hear that lessons weren’t learned from the BIO Gear fiasco.
Honestly the popstar is one of my favorite yoyos, it is really fun to just have as a daily carry because of the size. As far as performance goes you can do anything on one and I like the feel a lot but it seems to be one of those yoyos that you either love or you hate
It is definitely all about perspective. I am 6’5" tall and have large hands so the micro yo-yos, while fun, have not been a good fit as an everyday carry. I have owned a Dingo and a St. Eel in the past and had a blast with them but always gravitated back to the larger sized throws. Please don’t take my comments on the POPstar, or the Dingo for that matter, as a knock on the yo-yo. They are just not a perfect fit for me even though they may be great amounts of fun.
Back on topic, thanks for the comments everyone. Please keep them coming.
So I decided to look into the not “pocket” sized throws.
Anyone know if this is made in america? also does it count since it is on sale?
The A.Y.C.E was made in china.
