What do you believe are the best performing plastics in 2026?

Polyoxymethalene ( Pom ) also known as acetal is commonly available in two chemical variants
Pom-h—branded by Delrin. Homopolymer
Pom-c—branded by Celcon. Copolymer

From what I have read, machined yoyos are probably made from Pom-c.

I have been using the Alchemik tempest for the past week and it is a very capable yoyo. Probably the best plastic I have played with. Based solely on my experience with the dozen or so different plastic yoyos I’ve owned so far. I’m thoroughly impressed with it. It’s a looker as well

Hub molded in which caused them to have some cracking issues early on.

Haha sorry if I was just saying obvious stuff.

I was just thinking about the cost savings of sharing a mold. You could be right about this particular mold being cheaper (since it is less detailed). That’s probably why the range Jeff Pang gave was $10-$20K just for the mold.

Makes sense then that high volume runs are needed to compensate for the cost of the mold. High volume=lower cost per unit=cheaper product. Luftverk plastics are awesome. I do find that my LinkX is good too

Still Yoyorecreation Diffusion. Not as wide as most modern plastics, but equally stable and more nimble. Plays better than a lot of monometal. Especially the POM version one

Just got my hands on a Japan Technology Ample POM. This is the most stable yoyo in my entire collection! If we’re talking purely performance this has to be in the conversation. Despite the hefty weight it surprisingly doesn’t feel too slow or heavy on the string either (or maybe just not as slow as I expected).

Diffusion is the yoyo that made me take plastics seriously. That being said I think some of the newer stuff is better performing.

I still play my Diffusion regularly. It has something magical about it. Feels very floaty and is always a fun time

Empathy Bubble is quite good IMHO

Been playing with a Japan Technology Immersive POM the last couple of days and I think its better than the Ample. It moves a little better and is just as stable. Highly recommend! This might be my comp 5A yoyo when I start competing next year.

Im a little Old School, But I LOVE my Original Yoyofactory Wedges!!! Id select my Japan Technologies Plactal If I get to choose a Rimmed plastic!

Potential hot take, I’ve tried both Wedge and Replay Pro (same league) and I think Replay outdoes Wedge

I’ll freely admit I haven’t thrown the Replay. I went off the deep end with just bimetals and Titaniums for several years and unfortunately missed a few really good ones!! Ive since then gained QUITE a bit of ground though!!

I’ll chime in! I live my plastic 000.

What’s the black one? The translucence looks great.

It’s actually a back-lit white “Snow and Ice “ Cabal Gen 2
