Okay, slightly offended. That thing spins for 7 mins plus. Totally disagree. Do I have to challenge you to a yoyo duel?
Sorry to tack back on to you. But I just noticed it was YOU. I’m a huge huge fan of yours. I love everything you do bro and take everything you say seriously!
Butting in as a one of the Delrin people, it is translucent in lighter colors. It is also slightly more dense than PC, AFAIK. It does have a distinctive feel that may not appeal to everyone.
I’m redeeming my initials.
Both Shooting Star and LinkX are in blue. I gave away my Shooting Star to an acquaintance who was learning how to bind
Haha sorry, didn’t mean to. I say that from personal experience. Dis the same combo on all three of my plastics (S.Star, pFulvia, LinkX) and S.Star had the hardest time coming back to my hand. The combo was Superflow, Tsukasa Namba, Supercharger, Mario & Luigi, if you care.
But hey, experience is the mother of illusion, and S.Star is still a good yoyo, my tastes just changed, that’s all
Not too seriously I hope. I’m only human.
I think if you’re really fixated on performance you should probably just get a metal yoyo.
That being said if you were buying a single yoyo for a child or somebody who wanted to compete or just learn modern tricks, I think the easy answers currently would be the Plastic Cheatcode and Plastic Wilderness. The Ghost IX I think is borderline a good choice too, but it’s just kinda too expensive if price is the biggest appeal of plastic. I have a comp set of Ghost IXs for 5A and it’s just a great yoyo, I like the Ghost more than the Stellar IX. Jawn kids can manage the Ghost IX just fine for 1A, but really you’re probably better off with the Plastic Cheatcode or Plastic Wilderness for price reasons.
That LinkX is one of the best looking plastics I have ever seen. I wouldn’t mind converting soon anyways. I don’t know if you’re aware but the Speedaholic XX and Shooting Star were like on top for a little bit. Not to say there wasn’t others, but just widely mentioned because they are little more mainstream. But not surprised it’s getting surpassed now that’s why I made this post ![]()
Great comment because I 100 percent agree with you metal is superior. Plastics are just so fun though and when they are translucent I find them to be so beautiful. When you become a fanatic, you kind of want to know the best of everything. I have over 100 yoyos and a lot of expensive ones so you’d think I’d be using them, but last week I was throwing around Speedaholic XX and the cheap first* version of it that didn’t even have a finger-hub yet. The notion of just opening and grabbing a yoyo from so many choices is appealing to me. There’s kids who own like 3 and would slay me and they are impressed with my collection like I’m cool - Nah trust me little G you’re the cool one around here.
Wonderful words of wisdom to add to my shrine of you hidden in my closet. I really don’t know how you do it…
Oh that’s awesome! I was just throwing it around before and changed response pads because I wanted to compare it to the Skyva 2 when it comes tomorrow! I never owned a pom version I got a clear and yellow translucent plastic version. Bro I was like the man because I had a version of the mojo no one had seen with white lettering. I didn’t mean to but I ordered it from China and it came on a boat and took like 3 months to arrive at the time. If you had the POM version at the time that was even sicker and harder to get, I remember all that ![]()
My initials are BGK - no joke. Maybe I’m KGB people used to joke.
So do you consider the Shooting Star as POM then? I didn’t think it was. What about the plastic Fulvia in translucent? I’m asking because I own these yoyos lol
I hope you got that gold on it. Damn that’s sick.
Admittedly my experience with delrin or pc is pretty limited but I do know that the Crucial Milky is a heck of a great throw. I really want to try a Laguna one of these days though, that one always catches my eye.
Rainbow dyed version looks beautiful. I did not know these existed. Does Tyler make new throws? I was under the impression he didn’t for some reason. Recess First Base (clear) was my go-to yoyo for such a long time when I was learning. So so good.
You don’t have to convince me how good Ace Yo is. I have an Ace Yo Gravitation (machined plastic) and bimetal Ace-Yo Ace of Aces that is so good. It plays like the Edge Beyond. R2FG was another cheap brand that i had been so impressed with who I think re-braned into Yozean now. But I have a couple of their monometals and was like DAMN.
Hahaha this is really just a good read. I have no experience with fixed axles period and won’t pretend I do. Even looping yoyos to me are just throwing the two basic loops and that’s about it. Is there a reason why you have not tried more modern yoyos? Just don’t like them? When I was learning I thought it was the coolest thing how you could add wax to fixed axles.
$114 for a delrin yoyo? Damn that thing’s expensive! If you had the money, you wouldn’t want a bimetal instead? Anything over $100 I’m expecting bimetal. It does look sick though and smooth…oh so smooth lol
