My Ditch is an incredible throw, just the right balance of size, weight and design.
Mannnn i grinded for points online doing reviews about a decade ago. Saved up enough points for an iron man wooly. Then i fell in love w 28s.
Got this bad boy when i got back in the hobby last year.
This model might forever be the most “fun” for me to throw w that nostalgic bird in the hand feel

Two sibling throws: a modded Snapshot (aqua) and a stock Snapback (red). Both of them sanded down to a nice soft matte finish.
The Snapshot—which is Gentry’s branded SpinStar—has been given the “720 mod” treatment, which replaces the cheap plastic transaxle with Loop 720 guts: the axle, green spacers, and looper bearing.
The Snapback is a new version of the SpinStar that does something very similar: it replaces the transaxle with an A-size bearing surrounded by metal spacers.
Comparing the two, the modded Snapshot is substantially quieter and has a bit more spin power thanks to the small looper bearing. However, the Snapback is considerably less expensive. Both have quite a bit of vibe, but that’s to be expected given how they’re made.
I think the idea of taking the SpinStar and hot-rodding it is a pretty great one. If you have the money, or just a spare Loop 720 laying around you don’t play with much, then I’d recommend the 720 mod. If you’re on a budget, or just don’t want to spend that much money on a suped-up beginner yoyo, then the Snapback is a better choice (you get 85% of the performance and 300% of the noise at a fraction of the cost).
One of the best Peak colours!

Playing with some of my favorites today. If you’re looking for a great TP pickup the St Elmo. Also if you want a great performing fun full sized steel throw pickup the Thorest. It’s easily my favorite steel throw that I own.
Uhhh…Duncan-tastic!
