Great day to explore the Alapocas
Yoyofactory 720 and One Drop Fat Tire 20/20. Really happy with the Fat Tire 20/20, glad I grabbed it
RSM (Rice Stack Mod) side effects with the dice swapped off for some YYF stacks from the looks of things. I would commit several war crimes for a pair.
Thats a great looking squad
You can buy a modded pair from yoyospirit:
We’re babysitting my GF’s three year old niece today, and I asked her what yo-yos she wanted me to use, notice a pattern here?
According to her every yoyo should have a pink string and she was very upset to find out I didn’t have enough for every single yoyo. And she’s probably right, idk I’m not gonna argue with a sweet little girl lol
Which one is your favourite?
Todays throwtation (though truth be told I carried a Butterfly all day out and about but never played it). Throwing the Raiders and the Wyvern tonight.
I’m thinking of giving up on the Raiders for looping. I can’t get them set up to where I’m happy with them. They are currently rocking Loop 720 red spacers, Kitty FC Fat, and a reasonably large amount of lube and they just aren’t anywhere near as responsive as stock Loop 720s. Maybe I should put the original spacers back in and use them as 0A pocket throws. It’s a real shame. They feel great in the hand, and they sleep great, but I just can’t get a good snappy response. I feel like the gap needs to be smaller (which is probably why modders overcrank them). I can’t believe Yomega hasn’t just made a few small tweaks (shorter axle, different spacers) to make a variant that loops well out of the box.
On a side note, I was at a Bar Mitzvah this weekend and one of the kids was throwing a Cheatcode! I asked him if I could try it and he said “just so you know, it’s unresponsive” I managed to land the fingerspin, but the kid is like half my height, so the string was at a comically short length for me, and I couldn’t adjust to land the bind for DNA.
I was feeling the green throws today. I also brought along the panorama but never pulled it out cause I was over hard surfaces and not willing to risk a ding.
When in doubt or when I need a hand free I loop and I got to say I get some sort of childhood like joy looping with a plastic transaxle. I’ll need to find a pair for this guy or buy two identical cheap throws. cause it’s the only looper I have setup with pads and a plastic sleeve. I believe the ten trick is just a loop 360 but i really don’t know.
I remember as a kid playing with a yo-yo my dad got that had a plastic sleeve which was like really cool at the time and never really could get it to return.
They do…
The Raider Ex comes with a selection of spacers.
YoYoExpert doesn’t appear to have any in stock right now. But check around elsewhere.
Definitely the green one. The extra weight gives it a good feeling. I would put the orange in second mostly because the coating is fantastic.
The consensus on the 2A Facebook group was that the spacers in the Raider EX didn’t really improve the situation. I haven’t tried them myself, but I did swap in the Loop 720 spacers. I might try the Sunrise kit.
I think it legit needs a shorter axle. They apparently used to sell mod kits with a shorter axle and a plastic spacer, but I haven’t been able to find one.
Mine work fine for me. YMMV
My old Raider with sunrise bearing and spacers works great. I also probably cranked it a fair bit though. It is missing a good bit of plastic and held together with glue and washers so maybe results will vary…
Been on that tangler grind!! Gravitating towards the monarch because of a design feature I put in. If the rings become a little dislodged from a drop or hard CW smack I can snap them back in pretty easily . Also gummy weight so if I smack myself in the face it doesn’t hurt as much
