QSC CX-Q 4k4 networked amplifiers (18 total) and a couple Core110f DSPs to drive them! This is all for the systems we’re updating at the Apollo Lunar Theater and Firing Room at Kennedy Space Center.
Pretty cool project

Pretty cool project
That project does sound fun
What amps and dsp?
Edit: 2 comments above. QSYS can be fun to program.
It’s not listed as “retired” on the OD site so maybe!
Aye, I rather enjoy it. Personally, I believe QSC is the best DSP out there for installed commercial audio. I’ve only done a few installs where it also acts as the control system.
Of course, I have experience with BSS, Biamp, Symmetrix, Rane, AtlasIED, ClearOne, and just about any other that exists out there.
I’m also a serious Crestron programmer and I dabble in AMX when I have to
Slingin’ code for a decade+ now!
there certainly arent many that compete with QSYS systems. worked with it on quite a few projects where our loudspeakers are the end points.
I grab for the Thorn a lot, and for me it’s in between relaxed throwing and stuff that I need to focus on. Only thing I don’t like is the thorn, it keeps scratching my hands when space is tight. Very sharp
the thorn is definitely an interesting throw on the string. it has such a commanding presence, but never feels demanding. has nice float, great power, and those spikes are the only spikes ive been able to land a “real” finger spin on (pull starts happen with any spikes, but never landing them lol)
Yikes, can’t imagine landing finger spins on the thorn with my baby texture hands
it hurt less than you’d think. part of landing on the spike is not allowing it to bounce, which means as it hits my finger i’m cushioning that landing by moving my hand with the motion of the yoyo
Those are some fat rims, are they by chance titanium?
Stainless Steel
I set up a few of Panoramas that way with U/L and a 54 with spikes. Still looking for a set of red U/L.
I’m going to have to try that! That spike is sharp, so I just assumed it wouldn’t be fun.
