This one is a 2012 but was in un-used condition!

Nice find! They made great knives. And were very nice people. I got to talk to their representative at a knife show in 2012. And yours looks like a fine specimen.

Three more bars added to my yo-yo collecting prison via Doctor Popular. All three are awesome. It seemed like the general consensus was that the Day Tripper was preferable, but I think I like the Weekender a bit more. I was expecting black energy dome SE, but those appear to be part of the yo-yo.

That’s gotta be NOS. Right?

Yeah, Martin is my favorite. Has been for a very long time. I used to work for my FIL’s shop and we were a Martin dealer.

I’ve got a Martin DCXE Black. Was a birthday present from my wife (then girlfriend) and I’ve never received a better gift. I’ll never let it go. Had the bridge reset by a luthier in town about three years ago and she rings like a bell in D Standard.

My sad Martin story: Got a D-35 about 20 years ago and probably played it once or twice. One day I realized it wasn’t where it was supposed to be (in my office at work) and couldn’t figure out when it went missing. Never even put the strap pin in the end (and still have it). Replaced it with a slightly less expensive Guild and still have that. Sadly my guitar playing skill is on par with my yoyo… but hey I’ve got the tools if I ever do get good. :joy:

That’s a sad sad tale. I would have been on a warpath in the office.

Ditto.

I have a Dan Tyminski signature D28 and a custom shop 000-18. Such great guitars, have owned a ton of them, but these two may be it for me.

Wow, all the great both awesome and sad Martin stories. My local guy Jimmy owns foggy mountain music here in grass valley and they sell Martin’s I doubt I could ever afford another. And if you decide to be a freaking luthier……$$$$$$$$

I’ve been a guitar tech for 17 years now. Have worked with a number of bands. Have been working on building my own guitars, hopefully that will come together this winter.

I can’t choose between the Daytripper or Weekender as far as my “favorite”, I just know I’m glad I have both of them and they’re both amazing. Weekender seems to be a tiny bit more crazy sometimes when I’m regenerating, it goes off plane more easily. But overall they are both just awesome modern responsives.

I’m looking to build my own ukuleles within the next few years.

Nice! I’ve got the wood here for that, need to actually do it. Have too many plans, and not enough time. I’ve got 5 electric guitars, 1 mandolin and 2 ukuleles all planned out, just need to finish other projects first and get them going. Hoping 2 of the guitars are finished this winter, with a third started.

Nice knife. Got a couple of Case XX too. It walks and talks as the old timers I’ve known used to say. Meaning it is snappy and build is tight. I’ve missed the Blade show in Atlanta for years now myself. Or the USN out West.

It’s a 2012 still wrapped in paper and the bag!
