An awesome Retic Death Adder V2 dropped through the post box yesterday. Such a beast, really, really great throw. Not sure what the colour is called but it’s beautiful. Feels a little like a cross between a Shutter and a YoyoFriends Hummingbird but perhaps every so slightly heavier and feels a little more powerful and stable. Love it.

Thanks! That was the first one I bought, it was the bells-and-whistles one that had the external switch ports and went up to 3600 CPI or something. Later I learned that the ones without the external switch ports still had the solder pads for them on the board, so when I bought a second one for my next computer I got the cheaper one and modded a switch unit onto it to save some cash.

I tried going back to a mouse a couple years ago and just can’t do it. I’m spoilt on trackballs.

Thanks for the reminder, I got one of these that I used to use as well. Just dug it out of storage so excuse the filth:

And yes, the switch was made from some old Legos I had as a kid.

I stopped using it mostly because I disliked the ergonomics of scrolling. I preferred the mouse I had that had the scroll wheel around the ball, but it was really cheap feeling and was a major drawback. Otherwise id totally go back to maining this. Nothing quite beats the feel of a trackball. Gonna clean this up I think.

Have to say something on the trackball sub-topic here. I’ve been using a Kensington Turbo Mouse and Pro Mouse since the 90s. The one in my office is actually from the 90s and I have an ADB to USB iMate converter cable so I can use it on a modern (circa 2012) mac. Never heard of CST, but if either of my Kensingtons ever fail, I guess I’ll try to track one down. I originally got one so I could play Centipede and Missile Command on MAME, but I ended up just liking them for day to day use. I agree that a scroll wheel is the one thing where a mouse beats it, but other than that…trackballs forever.

This is an E.O.D. Beater bar.
Handmade in America, this tool is for everything your NOT supposed to use your knife for. I highly recommend.

This looks cool! What do you use it for?

Making kindling, pounding in tent stakes. Opening crates and other box like things. Digging in the dirt and pounding out roots or perhaps other utility tasks. We’ve all seen the movie where the hero finds the mine. And then he crawls over and digs the mine out with his combat knife. Well this tool replaces the knife. It a also opens doors for breaching and breaks glass for pulling people out of wrecked cars….E.T.C. You probably don’t need one. Just saying. Tacos!!!

Sounds awesome…would you call this a prybar?

I’ve got that same Black Canon! What do you think of it so far? I think it’s great for learning as long as I keep on my toes and am really careful. It can get off balance easily and go into a tailspin if I’m not paying enough attention.

I really like it. Makes me practice being more consistent in hitting the string. Can’t be lazy. Lol. Want to throw a half spec bearing in it with shorter axel to try it responsive.
