Blizzard AC2, Fire Blizzard Gnarwhal 2, Blue Yeti. Life is good.
The Gnarwhal 2 is like the Gnarwhal done right. I feel like quite a few companies have offered something that qualifies as “Gnarwhal done right” at this point but it’s nice to have it in a wonderful CLYW colorway.
If I had never thrown the AC then the AC2 would be my clear favorite CLYW after only a few throws but as it is I need to play it a bit more to make that statement. So far the size really just seems perfect for me, just enough more width without getting too big for me like I feel the Summit is.
The controversial Yeti…I love it. My favorite plastic and it’s not even close. It has a much more plasticy feeling than I expected and plays like it’s substantially lighter than the specs. May be based on the Chief but it has a much more organic feeling shape to me in the hand than the Chief does and returns to my hand more comfortably even at high speeds. I had a Protostar for years and hated it until I tuned it properly then I loved it. Wanted to love the Rally so badly because I liked the classy clear one I bought but it really just didn’t do it for me. Had low expectations going into the Yeti but CLYW really hit a homerun with this, at least for my preferences. Is the Yeti better than the Rally (or Protostar)? I doubt it. Do I prefer the Yeti? Definitely. Is $55+shipping for a plastic expensive? Relative to other items on the market, yes, definitely. Is it worth $55+ shipping? Don’t know. That’s up to you. I could afford to find out, and I’m glad I did because the answer is absolutely yes for me.

Well like many people last week I tried desperately to get a mystery box, but it was a total bust. So… I decided to turn my bad luck into something awesome. I’m speaking of course about buying a SHUTTER!!!
It just arrived today after ordering it on Thursday. Was a little disappointed on how long it took to get here, but dam if it wasn’t worth the wait. I got a silver and green splash throw and its awesome totally worth the extra $7. The only thing that keeps this from bent a competition ready throw is it doesn’t come with a center track bearing, but I put one in and this thing is a BEAST!!!
Keep an eye out for my next video( coming to a blog forum near you) I’m so glad to have something for competition.

Today was Ricochet, H.O.T., Protostar, Token, some string and a hat. The Token is really neat.
Of all those you mentioned, you think the Token is best? Do you really like undersized yoyos or something?
I must say, I have a Token and I love it for an undersized throw but:
- It doesn’t even get close to beating my Shutter, Genesis, or Glide in the top 3.
- The sleep time is terrible
Also, I would love a HOT.
And finally, take it easy with your ProtoStar, mine broke very easily and the my friend has had trouble with his too.
Describing something as “neat” has nothing to do with it being “the best”. For $23 or whatever it was with the discount I expected little to nothing out of it but it really packs quite a punch and is an entertaining little throw. I’ve thrown so many different yoyos that many of them start to blend together these days and within 5 minutes of throwing something I often know whether or not it is bound for my BST. The Token is enough of a departure from other things I’ve owned/thrown that I can’t imagine selling it.

My Bape2 and Yelets got here just in time, was already missing my Viszilla.
The Yelets is just a neat throw and $40 for a brand new one is a steal. I debated between the Silver or Pewter unengraved for $40 and Nickel or Harrison Hurricane for $55. Glad I went with the unengraved Silver, simple and classy.
The Bape 2…well I already had a Viszilla so no surprises here. It’s small, it’s fun. For $72.50 and a pending deal to take my Viszilla away from me this was a great buy. Plus I wanted some silver Anti-Yo SEs =P It’s really surprising to see 39 of them still in stock here…a lot of people here missed out on an unbelievable deal.
