Think it just looks a bit frayed. Some people change out string with the quickness when this happens.
Personally, if it still holds tension well, I play through it.

Binds just get way too slippy when my strings get all frayed like that.

Also some strings get more “fuzzy” than others during play in my experience.

I must admit that the setting sun probably makes it worse that it actually is but I do try and get the most out of my strings, especially higer quality one’s.

I’m with you on this!
When you spend through the teeth for fancy strings which you pay loads for PLUS postage from overseas you want to make the very most of them, I know I sure do!

I’m loving my Mayhem. Just got it in the mail on Thursday!
I threw a fat kitty string in there, and it’s awesome! The fatter string gives me tighter, more snappy binds and it just feels a lot better to throw around now.

I haven’t gotten too much play with it in, but my early impressions are overwhelmingly positive. My favorite yoyos are light, organic, floaty, minimalist yoyos, so you can see how the grail would check all those boxes

The merlin is an amazing throw, but you can’t play unresponsive. Only responsive. When I tried to put a Wide C bearing in, it was wobbling like crazy.
A heavier yo-yo than the YYF One. Good balance, a bit vibe, but all plastics are vibey right?
And it glows in the dark!

It’s a fun yoyo, and I really like the way it plays (which is pretty close or even identical to the superwide). They were dirt cheap so I grabbed all that I saw
